Yamaha YZ description

This 2002 Yamaha YZ250 2 Stroke is a great running bike I had just rebuilt the top and bottom end of the motor including renicaling the jug at Millenium in Wisconsin. The whole bottom end case got shot peened and reassembled with all new o-rings gaskets and bearings while the top got renicacilled with new rings, piston, wrist pin bearing, seals,  powervalve springs, and so fourth. The motor  currently has only 10-15 hours on it 15 being tops. Has ARC clutch, Pro Taper Bars, EMIG grips with a quarter turn throttle, New clutch and throttle cables. Always did regular oil changes, carbeurator cleanings, regular maintance, and only ran KLOTZ BENZOYL for a two stroke mix. Brand new radiators, put tires on it a month ago front and back, changed the wheel bearings, front and rear sprockets and chain. I repainted the frame but taped off  the VIN sticker, cannot currently find the title since i just moved down to Vero Beach from Ohio but the VIN IS CLEAN but i shall provide a bill of sale when purchased and IT IS PICK UP ONLY. BIKE IS FOR SALE AS IS. The bike runs great and rides even better. I am only selling the bike due to I have not been able to find a job yet and I must pay car insurance and rent. Only thing wrong witht he bike is rear brake line leaks a little bit but still works fine. I have over 3500 into this bike and have owned it for approximately 3 years now and hate to have to see it go. Thank you for your time! Calvin

Yamaha Quitting World Superbike Racing After 2011 Season

Mon, 01 Aug 2011

Yamaha announced it is withdrawing its factory World Superbike Championship race team following the end of the 2011 season. The news comes as a bit of a surprise, just a week after reports the team had re-signed racer Marco Melandri for the 2012 season. On the other hand, the team has struggled to find a title sponsor this season, as has Yamaha’s MotoGP team.

Old boys up front and where are the new 600 Gixers?

Mon, 28 Feb 2011

As I’ve been gagging for the new race season to kick off so it was almost a pleasure getting up at stupid 0 clock to watch the World Superbike Championship  opener at Phillip Island last weekend. I have to say Messrs Burnicle and Whitham were on form although I was disappointed there were none of the usual verbal attacks on each other that always add to the entertainment.    I’m sure they will put things right soon but the world superbike regulars must have been disheartened that Moto GP veterans nailed five of the six available rostrum slots.

Yamaha to Produce PES1 and PED1 Electric Motorcycles by 2016

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Yamaha announced plans to release the production versions of its PES1 and PED1 concept models within two years as part of the company’s plans to enter the electric motorcycle segment. The PES1 and PED1 (which stands for “Passion, Electric, Street” and “Passion, Electric, Dirt”) concepts were first revealed at last November’s Tokyo Motor Show. In the company’s newly-published annual report, Yamaha confirmed plans to produce the two models, saying: “In sports motorcycles, we are working to create new value with EV sports motorcycles, which we aim to launch in two years, with the development of the small, on-road sports PES1, as well as the PED1, which are being developed to expand the scope of electric vehicles to the off-road world.
