Yamaha XVZ13D description

Bought this Trike about 2 years ago after looking for 6 months.  Cannot ride any more due to injury in auto accident.

The man I bought it from told me:
1-This trike was built in Yamaha factory only in 1986 & 1987,
2- He had three NEW TIRES installed,
3- He had the front and rear brakes and bearings replaced,
4- He had the carbs rebuilt and the engine & transmission checked out and oil and dope replaced.

Comes with:
1- Two helmets painted to match custom paint and trim of Trike,
2- Battery tender and new battery,
3- Yamaha V.R. cover,
 4- Drivers back rest,
5- Passenger seat with padded arm rests.

She cranks and idles smoothly, but bogs on acceleration.  Could be bad gas.

Well worth the $6,900. I'm asking.  Please: no trades and no dealers!

R1 noise, bike porn and a quick lap

Tue, 24 Apr 2012

Trawling the internet for a sound clip of the Crossplane Crank Yamaha R1 on full chatter, I came across this: a few fast laps on board with New Zealand Superbike racer Tony Rees as he works the CABS Throttle Blipper on his 2011 R1. (Skip to 7:35 for the fast ones.) CABS is a system used by Superbike teams that makes use of the R1’s digitally controlled throttle. When you change up a gear, the bike blips in the perfect amount of revs to save time on track and make downshifts as quick and easy as clutch-less upshifts.

And in my front room this evening...

NO IT'S NOT an illusion: you're looking at the 1981 Yamaha OW53, ridden by double World Champion Barry Sheene in the first three rounds of the '81 500GP championship. The bike's owner, aircraft engineering entrepreneur Chris Wilson, has lent the £100,000 GP machine to Visordown for our stand at this year's NEC Motorcycle Show - 27th November to 6th December 2009. Sheene raced the bike in the 1981 championship, where he finished fourth at Salzburgring, sixth at Hockenheim and third at Monza.

The Emperor’s New Clothes — Josh Hayes’ Style for 2013

Three-time and defending AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike Champion, Josh Hayes (above right), and 2012 AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike Rookie of the Year, Josh Herrin, are ready to debut new livery on their Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha YZF-R1 next week in Daytona. Joining them are 2012 AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike race winner, Cameron Beaubier, and 2012 AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport race winner, Garrett Gerloff, on their Yamaha Extended Service/Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha Daytona SportBike YZF-R6s. The four riders and their machines recently completed a photo session at Yamaha’s U.S.
