Yamaha Virago description

This is my 1985 Yamaha Virago xv1000, its been garage kept, its very clean. I was told it has low compression in one cylinder and the carburetor leaks, I'm not a mechanic so I'm not exactly sure what all that means, I had a gas shot off put on it to keep the carburetor from dripping and otherwise have had no problems. It has some minor cosmetic damage on the exhaust pipes, and some of the chrome is "peeling", and a crack in the seat. It's low geared like a lot of 80's vehicles, so its great for around town riding. Its got just over 21 thousand miles on it, I ride it to work occasionally and it runs fine. All lights, horn, turn signals, everything functions perfectly. I'm selling it because I'm planning to upgrade and need the space in my garage. Registration is current, in fact I just got the 2013-2014 registration (not shown in the photos) I have the pink in hand and all documentation is current. This was my first bike and it will be greater starter for someone else. If I missed anything hopefully the pictures describe it better. No reserve.
Payment can either be cash or Pay-pal.
Local pick up only.

An Island tour with a legend

What you are watching is a highlight of Mike Hailwood's segment from the racing documentary Take it to the Limit - A Motorcycle Odyssey. The Yamaha - built by the extraordinary Kel Carruthers - that Hailwood is riding in the clip featured a unique frame with the camera housed within. The voice-over recording provided by Hailwood was done by taping a small mic to the bottom of his lip so he could dictate his guide to the 37.73 mile route.

EICMA 2011 Preview: 2012 Yamaha TMax – Scooterus Maximus [Video]

Tue, 18 Oct 2011

The 2011 EICMA show in Milan is just a few weeks away and from what we’ve seen from the manufacturers so far, it looks like the prevailing theme this year is the maxi-scooter. Honda will present its 700cc dual clutch transmission Integra scooter at EICMA, BMW announced it will unveil two new maxi-scooters in Milan, and Aprilia is rebadging an 850cc V-Twin Gilera scooter as the SRV 850. And now Yamaha is jumping into the fray with an update to its popular TMax.
