Yamaha TT500 description

For sale is a nice vintage Kenny Roberts Framed Yamaha TT500 flat dirt racing bike.
  • As you might expect this is a rare bike with a frame serial number of 5.  KR TT 05 is the serial number on the frame.  Not many made by the famous flat track and road racer Kenny Roberts.
  • I think the motor is about 1978.  I'll check the serial number in the nex few days to make sure.
  • This chassis was raced with success by Jody Lary in the Northeast.
  • The motor is my backup TT500 race motor and starts easily, runs great and shifts as it should.
  • Race as it is or restore it for a one of a kind vintage flat track bike.
  • Ceriani triple trees.
  • Marzocchi forks.
  • Quick change rear wheel.
  • Spool front wheel
  • Tires have enough tread left for a number of races.
  • I think the rear shocks are Progressive.
  • New clutch and throttle cable.
  • Gremica master cylinder and rear caliper.
  • Seat/tank/pad are nice but not perfect.  Tank has no leaks but around the gas cap it must have been repaired over its life.
  • Very original.
  • I'd say it is a 9 or 9.5 on a 10 scale.  Of course that is my subjective opinion.
  • Engine Number xxx (will get in the next day or two).
  • $250 due by paypal upon successful auction end with the balance to be paid by cash, wire xfer or cashiers check within 7 days of the auctions end.
  • Sold on a Bill of Sale as race bikes don't have a title.
  • Video of the bike running at https://youtu.be/iR4LUciAE4A
  • Check out my feedback.
  • Will work with your shipper or possible west coast delivery for a nominal fee (gas & expenses).

Wayne Rainey Visits Yamaha Racing HQ

Thu, 08 Sep 2011

Racing legend and three-time 500cc Grand Prix Champion Wayne Rainey paid a visit to Yamaha Motor Racing’s headquarters just outside of Milan, Italy. The 1990-1992 World Champion met with employees of Yamaha Racing, Yamaha Motor Italy and Yamaha Motor RD Europe and officially opened a new boardroom named in his honor. Rainey, along with current Yamaha factory MotoGP racers Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies, took time to take photographs and sign autographs with the Yamaha staff.

2011 Yamaha Vino Classic Recalled for Drum Brake Issue

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

Yamaha is recalling 2011 Vino Classic scooters because of a problem with its brakes. More specifically, the brake shoe linings may separate from the shoe due to a lack of proper adhesion, reducing brake performance and increasing the risk of a crash. The problem can affect both the front and rear drum brakes.

What Would Colin Edwards Do?

Wed, 25 May 2011

As fast as Colin Edwards is on the track, the Texas Tornado may be even quicker behind a microphone. We saw some of that last year in the Yamaha-produced “Man-Cation” video with Edwards and his then-Tech 3 teammate Ben Spies, and Edwards can always be relied upon for a good quote at press conferences. The producers of MotoGP’s official video podcast “After the Flag” have taken notice of CEIII’s wit.
