Yamaha SR500 description

I purchased three motorcycles from an elderly friend recently. This 1979 Yamaha SR500, a 1955 pre-unit Triumph T110 and a 1971 Norton Commando. The Norton and Triumph will be listed on separate auctions. This SR500 is a numbers matching bike that starts easily, and runs, rides, shifts and stops great! All lights and blinkers work! The amateur paint isn't great, but the tank is straight except for one very small ding, and it is clean inside. This bike also has a clear title ready for transfer. This would be an easy bike to restore to stock or it would be a great foundation for a mild custom bobber or chopper. It is a great little bike that would be easy to finish and is quite collectible. It is being sold with no reserve! I can help load on to your shipper. Buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for shipping. Bike must be paid for in full within 7 days. PayPal is fine. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!

Hey guys, I listed this bike incorrectly as a 1979, it is indeed a 1978 and the frame I.D. tag says 10/77. Title also says 1978. If that messes anybody up, feel free to retract your bid. Sorry for the mistake!

Mon, 28 Nov 2011

Yamaha Motor Europe asked three of the world’s top builders to work their magic on the company’s flagship power cruiser, the VMax. America’s Roland Sands, Germany’s Marcus Walz and Ludovic Lazareth of France each set to work and create three different interpretations on the Yamaha VMax. These “Hyper Modified” custom Yamaha VMax models were unveiled at Yamaha’s stand at the EICMA show earlier this month, and we placed them at #4 on our Top 10 EICMA Show Bikes You May Have Missed list.

AMA Supercross: 2012 Daytona Results

Mon, 12 Mar 2012

James Stewart gave his 2012 AMA Supercross championship hopes a much needed boost with a big win in sloppy, muddy conditions at Daytona International Speedway. Heavy rains made the Ricky Carmichael-designed track in Daytona’s tri-oval section even more difficult than the GOAT conceived, with the terrain rough, choppy and rutted. Series point leader Ryan Villopoto became an early casualty of the track conditions, sliding outon the second corner.

Movistar To Be Yamaha MotoGP Title Sponsor For 5-Years

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Finding sponsors for U.S. racing might be next to impossible, but this isn’t the case elsewhere, as Movistar, a telecommunications arm of Spanish company Telefonica, has signed on to be the title sponsor for the Factory Yamaha MotoGP team for the next five years. Short of the 20-year relationship between Honda and Repsol, this comes as one of the more significant sponsorship deals in recent memory.
