MORE PHOTOS AVAILABLE HERE: http://newjersey.craigslist.org/mcy/423XXXXXX.html Really cool vintage superbike 80's Yamaha Radian YX600 project with no time to finish. Bike #1: This bike had been stored in a barn for 10 yrs when I found it. It has a CLEAN TITLE!!!! I got it to run up on the bench last week. Unfortunately I just don't have time to do the full blown restoration I had dreamt of. Chrome exhaust is in really attractive shape. Tank in attractive shape. Complete set of matching light blue bodywork in box. Seat in attractive condition. Complete with all side panels. All cables work, brakes work. Lamps work. Just rebuilt carbs and installed a high flow K&N air filter. With little effort you could make this a reliable daily runner. However, with all that being said, this bike is still what I would call a project bike. It's a great candidate for a complete restoration. Bike #2 was supposed to be a donor parts bike but I couldn't resist getting it running either. Bought it for the rare four into 1 exhaust and then decided to rebuild the carbs and see what I had to work with. Ran for a few minutes on the bench just like her sister. So now I can't bear to tear her apart. Will make a really cool custom cafe racer....already halfway there with straight bars and airbox removed.Bike #3 was dismantled down to the frame and ready for the powdercoater and a complete custom rebuild. Complete motor, wheels, suspension, wiring harness, lamps, seat, instruments, airbox, exhaust and carburetor bank (all four complete). The only major component missing from #3 is a tank. No titles for Bike #2 or Bike #3. Bill of sale only. This is a PROJECT. These bikes are not ready to ride home. The chain, sprockets and tires need to be replaced. No battery included. Fuel petcock is leaking (will give you a spare unit. Rebuild kits are available on eBay for about $30. Will include an owners manual and a repair manual with sale.I am willing to deliver the bikes (and the boxes of spare parts) within 100 mis for $0.50/mile round trip. If you need a winter project that will be ready to rock this spring, this is your deal!

2015 Yamaha XJR1300 and XJR1300 Racer Announced for Intermot

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

In a time where air-cooled icons like Harley-Davidson, Indian, BMW‘s boxer engine and the Ducati Monster have all embraced the radiator, it’s a bit surprising to know Yamaha is still offering the XJR1300 in Europe. Featuring the world’s largest-displacement air-cooled Inline-Four engine in production, the XJR1300 lives on in 2015 with a new custom-inspired look and a cafe racer variant. The 2015 XJR1300 was inspired by a custom from builder Keino called “Rhapsody in Blue” as part of Yamaha’s Yard Built program.

MotoGP to Hold Official Test in Argentina; South American Nation Returning to Calendar for 2014

Thu, 11 Apr 2013

Dorna Sports announced there will be a MotoGP test at Argentina’s Circuito Internacional Termas de Rio Hondo in July to allow teams to prepare for the track’s expected addition to the 2014 MotoGP calendar. Argentina was actually supposed to join the MotoGP tour this season, but the round was scrapped because of a dispute between the country and Spain after the Argentine government seized control of a Repsol subsidiary. Repsol is, of course, a prominent sponsor of several teams including Honda‘s factory team.

Ienatsch, Hill, Russell, Bestwick To Give Speech At Yale Today

Thu, 30 Jan 2014

In what might be considered the most shocking news of 2014 so far, Nick Ienatsch and Ken Hill are going to Yale. While some might think the Chief and Lead instructors at the newly revamped Yamaha Champions Riding School are getting in over their heads, the two are at Yale as lead presenters for “Excellence In Motion: What Motorcycle Racing Can Teach Us About Success,” which begins at 4pm (local time) today.  When put into context, their appearance at one of the nation’s top schools is understandable. Each has had their fair share of success aboard motorcycles, and they will be joined by two more champions on two-wheels, five-time Daytona 200 winner and 1993 World Superbike Champion Scott Russell, and Jamie Bestwick, an avid motorcyclist and winner of eight consecutive X-Games BMX Vert gold medals.
