Yamaha Other description

This 1989 Yamaha YSR50 is in excellent original condition.  This is a collector quality motorcycle.  It has only 1009 miles on the odometer, but it shows like it has less than 100 miles.  The previous collector and I kept this YSR50 inside a home (I had it in my man cave).  It is street legal with a California title, license plate and registration. It has matching serial numbers on engine and frame.  It is in remarkable condition and has been well maintained.  It was professionally prepped for long term storage.  The fuel tank is in excellent condition inside and out. The paint is excellent with no dents or scratches.  There are no cracks in the plastic fairings.  The fairings are near flawless with the exception of a couple scratches on the lower bottom fairing that cannot be readily seen without kneeling down low to the ground (see picture).  The only other flaw is a scratch on the right side engine cover by the kick starter (see picture). In comes with the factory operators manual and tool set. I will also include a brand new battery (still in box).  No warranty is provided with this sale. No shipping is provided with this sale.  Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping arrangements.

The blue/red on white color scheme was only available in the 1989 model year.  Whereas, the red on white color scheme was available in multiple model years. Therefore, it is harder to find the blue/red on white color scheme in collector quality condition.

Please do not click "buy it now" unless you are fully committed to the purchase (i.e., have wife's permission, money in the bank, etc.). I expect a $500 deposit within 24 hours via PayPal and the balance within 7 days via cash, wire transfer or cashiers check from a reputable banking institution.  Thank you for your consideration.

NO IT'S NOT an illusion: you're looking at the 1981 Yamaha OW53, ridden by double World Champion Barry Sheene in the first three rounds of the '81 500GP championship. The bike's owner, aircraft engineering entrepreneur Chris Wilson, has lent the £100,000 GP machine to Visordown for our stand at this year's NEC Motorcycle Show - 27th November to 6th December 2009. Sheene raced the bike in the 1981 championship, where he finished fourth at Salzburgring, sixth at Hockenheim and third at Monza.

How do 1000s compare to the 800s

Wed, 09 Nov 2011

Now MotoGP has completed its transformation from 800 to 1000cc, how do the lap times between the different bikes compare using Valencia and the post-season test as a benchmark.. Yesterday, Dani Pedrosa was the quickest 1000 on his Honda RC213V setting a time of 1:32.186. To find the quickest time from the outgoing 800 era you have to look at his current Repsol Honda team-mate, Casey Stoner, but it wasn't set on a Honda.
