What is 'different' about this IT250?
When I purchased the bike it was a super low hour bike on the original piston. 
It had the original grips, plastics, fender tool pouch and all the original tools. Lights work etc.
I then took it to the frame to visually inspect everything, replaced ANYTHING that needed to be replaced in order to run strong, be reliable and even race in the Pacific Northwest Vintage MX series.

Here is what has been done, replaced, added:
  1. Stripped to the frame and all bearings re-packed and greased with Belray Waterproof Grease
  2. Cylinder and head sent to Eric Gore for check, porting and a new piston, rings etc. I had him port it to be a bit more aggressive and for Vintage MX racing. It is set up for pump gas, 91-93 octane (NOT race gas). The motor has right at 6 hours on it. This motor pulls amazingly strong I have got hole shots in vintage racing against 500cc class bikes (in the age group class), CR480, YZ465, YZ490, Maico 490 etc, Eric said that is not surprising at all, 250s can be much more efficient and quicker out of the hole and corners.
  3. YZ250 pipe (original IT pipe included)
  4. YZ250 DG aftermarket silencer (original IT spark arrestor/silencer included)
  5. 1982 YZ250 38mm carb
  6. New reed valves (Boyesen)
  7. New intake assembly (with Yamaha Boost Bottle connector)
  8. New chain sliders on the swing arm and chain rollers
  9. New brake shoes front and rear
  10. New chain and sprockets
  11. 1980 YZ465 front forks, triple clamp and front dual leading shoe brake. New fork seals, fluid and fork boots. Original forks and single shoe brake hub in included
  12. Race Tech fork springs for 220-240 pound rider, with Race Tech Gold Valves
  13. Pro-Taper handle bars and pro-taper bar mounts.
  14. New Renthal dual compound grips
  15. Wide/modern foot pegs
  16. New folding tip shift lever
  17. Custom built Race Tech rear shock (built by Race Tech): Set up (valving and springs) for 220-240 pound intermediate. Race Tech Gold Valve internals, Race Tech Billet external reservoir with both high and low speed compression adjustments. Stainless steel braided external reservoir line. Original IT250 shock included.
  18. New Michelin M12 front tire and new HD tube
  19. New Michelin S12 rear tire and new HD tube
  20. Washington State Title
  21. Original Yamaha included tools
  22. I am certain I am leaving things out of this list.

This bike is so much fun to ride and race. It's very fast, the suspension is amazing and turns and handles amazingly well.  
**I have only run 91+ octane, non-ethanol fuel pre-mix with Amsoil Pure Synthetic Interceptor mixed at 32:1 and that is what the jetting is set for.  
**In the motor I only run Shell Rotella-T synthetic (Blue Jug) changed after every ride. Yes I am a maintenance nut, but then I have never DNFd at an event, ride or race due to mechanical or failed maintenance.

What does it need?
1. Rider/racer that is ready to go.
2. Front dual leading brake needs adjusting/set up.  
3. If you want to return it to 'stock' enduro condition, all you need to do is find a cylinder (1981 or 1982) on eBay or ?? and get a new piston that matches that bore. The head has only been decked (made sure to be straight and flat) so new cylinder and piston and you would have an IT250 trail machine. All the IT parts (forks, shock, pipe, silencer) are included.

Vintage motorcycle in amazing super low hour condition (you can tell from the clutch cover paint rub from the boot).  
A full motorcycle "RF warranty" is also provided. ***RF = rear fender warranty, its fully warrantied until the motorcycle leaves my driveway, and I can no longer see the rear fender of the motorcycle. At that moment the RF warranty expires.***

Trawling the internet for a sound clip of the Crossplane Crank Yamaha R1 on full chatter, I came across this: a few fast laps on board with New Zealand Superbike racer Tony Rees as he works the CABS Throttle Blipper on his 2011 R1. (Skip to 7:35 for the fast ones.) CABS is a system used by Superbike teams that makes use of the R1’s digitally controlled throttle. When you change up a gear, the bike blips in the perfect amount of revs to save time on track and make downshifts as quick and easy as clutch-less upshifts.

Schwantz Headlines 2012 Isle of Man TT Parade Lap

Former 500cc World Champion Kevin Schwantz headlines a star-studded group of racers taking part in a parade lap during the 2012 Isle of Man TT. Schwantz leads the group of six racers, past and present, selected by helmet-maker Arai to take part in the parade lap of the Isle of Man’s Mountain Course. Schwantz has visited the Isle of Man before, but this will mark his first closed lap of the circuit.

Kenny Roberts Motorcycle Collection Up For Sale

Motorcycling legend Kenny Roberts has commissioned RMD Motors to auction off some rare and exclusive motorcycles from his collection, presumably to make room for more. The Japan-based company is known the world over for its collection of rare and classic motorcycles for sale, many of which are retired grand prix machines fortunate enough to escape the fate of most decommissioned racebikes: the crusher.  Headlining the Roberts collection is the 2004 Proton KRV5 originally ridden by Kurtis Roberts, King Kenny’s youngest son. The five-cylinder grand prix machine never achieved much success on the world stage, but will easily make you the center of attention at your local trackday.
