Josh Hayes Wins Fourth AMA Superbike Title

Say what you will about the depleted state of the American roadracing scene, it shouldn’t diminish the fact Hayes put in the effort and beat some formidable challengers to the title. Here, the AMA congratulates Josh Hayes on his accomplishment. WSBK 2013: Nurburgring Race Report

Tom Sykes has taken over the lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings after splitting race victories with Chaz Davies at Germany’s Nurburgring circuit. Both races ended prematurely however with red flags during the final laps. Pata Honda‘s Jonathan Rea and FIXI Crescent Suzuki‘s Leon Camier both crashed on the 18th lap of Race One after running into oil spilled on the track from Pedercini Kawasaki racer Federico Sandi‘s ZX-10R.

Polaris Registers Design for Liquid-Cooled Victory

Polaris Industries has registered a design patent with the European Union for what appears to be a new liquid-cooled Victory motorcycle. The design sketches, registered and published through the EU’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), reveal a single-seat cruiser with a liquid-cooled V-Twin engine. The overall aesthetic is very much a Victory, with stacked twin slash-cut exhausts and bobbed fenders similar to the Vegas 8-Ball.
