2014-2015 Victory Models Recalled for Risk of Engine Seizure

Polaris Industries announced a recall on several 2014 Victory models and the 2015 Gunner because of a manufacturing error that may cause an engine to seize. The recall campaign affects 872 units in the U.S. In addition to the 2015 Victory Gunner, the recall affects the Boardwalk, Cross Country, Cross Country 8-Ball, Hammer 8-Ball, Jackpot, Judge, Ness Cross Country, Vegas 8-Ball and Vision from the 2014 model year.

Sidecar Motocross Racer Tests Positive for Clenbuterol

The International Motorcycling Federation announced it has provisionally suspended sidecar motocross passenger Lauris Daiders after a urine sample tested positive for the prohibited substance clenbuterol. The positive test came from an in-competition urine test at the July 21 FIM Sidecar Motocoss Championship round in Strassbessenbach, Germany. Lauris rides passenger with his brother Janis Daiders in the Sidecar Motocross world championship.

Max Biaggi strengthened his hold on the 2012 World Superbike Championship lead with a pair of wins at Italy’s Misano circuit. The Aprilia rider out-battled the Althea Ducati duo of Carlos Checa and Davide Giugliano to win Race One before taking a relatively easier Race Two victory. Before the races, WSBK riders lined up on the starting grid to hold a banner expressing their support for the Emilia region in northern Italy which has been suffering from earthquakes and continuing aftershocks since late May.
