Triumph Thunderbird description

2012 Triumph Thunderbird Storm ABS for sale.

Asking $6,000 o.b.o.

With 1699cc of parallel twin motor, 6 speed transmission, matte black paint, accented black motor and dual headlights the bike rides as sweet as it looks. It goes! and the ABS is there to help you stop! The custom saddle bags with built in indicators give you plenty of space for those longer trips. A removable windshield and removable luggage rack gives you the flexibility to change the look of the bike. The original rear seat is included with the bike but not shown in the photos. I have never had any issues with the bike, it has new rear tire and has had the oil changed every 3,000 miles. Yes, the bike has a few miles but that is why we have them... to ride them :)

Where is your new bike going to take you?

Unchained: 2013 Triumph Rocket III Free of Power Restrictions

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

Triumph has updated its Rocket III cruiser for 2013, adding more blacked-out components and a new seat, but perhaps the most significant change is what Triumph took away: the electronic torque limiter. Previous versions of the Triumph Rocket III and the Rocket III Touring variant had its power and torque neutered in the first three gears. The reins are off for 2013 however, with the Rocket III’s 2294cc engine delivering full power in all gears.

The Fonz Never Really Rode a Motorcycle!

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

According to the “King of Cool” himself, “The Fonz” (Henry Winkler) never actually rode any motorcycles during the ten year Happy Days television run.  Winkler, never rode a bike in real life either, he has dyslexia, which made it difficult for him to co-ordinate the clutch, throttle and brake.  Instead, the bikes (Harley Davidson’s, Triumph’s, BSA’s were used) were mounted on a piece of wood with wheels to make it look like he was riding, even though I am not shocked, I am a little disappointed… You can watch the interview with Winkler, the famous motorcycle jump “The Fonz” made over 14 trashcans and a bonus “Jump the Shark” video after the jump. Triumph Tiger Explorer and Trophy SE Recalled for Throttle Position Sensor Error

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

Triumph is recalling a combined total of 2,800 units of the Tiger Explorer and Trophy SE due to a problem with the electronic control unit detecting the throttle position. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the ECU’s detection threshold is set too tightly and it lacked proper signal filtering, causing it to prematurely detecting a deviation in the throttle butterfly position. The ECU would then activate the ride-by-wire system’s safety shutdown, closing the throttle butterly valve and cutting the fuel and ignition.
