Triumph Speed Triple description

Contact Chris at 312-878-8711, chris@motoworkschicago.com, or through ebay for any questions.

We have a lot of time, effort and money into listing this motorcycle on ebay.  Please be respectful of that and be certain that you intend to follow through with the sale.  Your bid is a contract to buy.

We have the listing set up to accept bids only from US and Canadian bidders in an effort to prevent scammers from ruining the auction.  If you are a legitimate bidder outside of the US or Canada and you have a way to have the bike picked up at our location without it being crated, please e-mail Chris at chris@motoworkschicago.com.  Provide him with your ebay ID and confirm that you can arrange international shipping and have the bike picked up uncrated at our location in Chicago, and he will gladly add you to the list that allows you to bid.

This thing is an absolute hoot to ride! The power from the 1050cc inline three cylinder engine will put a grin on your face no matter what your mood. And being a triple, it's turbine smooth. The Zard exhaust sounds amazing, shaves a ton of weight and adds a nice boost in power. The flyscreen and seat cowl (not pictured but included) make it look even cooler than it does stock. The frame and engine sliders will protect it if it happens to fall.  It is in nearly perfect cosmetic shape. The rear tire, chain and sprockets are all brand new. It has just been checked over and has a clean bill of health.  This beast is ready to rip!

More pictures coming Tuesday detailing the condition of the bike.  Please look at all of them carefully and ask any questions you have before bidding.  You can call Chris at 312-878-8711, e-mail him at chris@motoworkschicago.com, or contact us through ebay.

The bike is located at Motoworks in the city of Chicago.  If you are local and would like to see it in person, please call 312-878-8711 to set up an appointment.

Shipping a motorcycle can be expensive, so be sure to look into it before bidding. The zip code is 60608 to help in figuring shipping.  Our recommendation for a great shipper is Danny at D&K Services.  He can be reached at 973-534-7823.

Winning bidder picks up in Chicago or arranges for/pays for all shipping/crating. We can deliver within 100 miles of Chicago for a fee. $500 deposit via PayPal due within 24 hours of auction close. Remainder via one of the standard payment methods within seven days. No PayPal for remainder unless you contact us first. The bike is to be picked up within three weeks of auction close. $25 per week storage fee after that.  We are a dealer, so we must charge sales tax and process the title and plate if you are an Illinois buyer.  If you are a buyer from one of the states that reciprocates with Illinois on sales tax, we must collect sales tax based on the vehicle rate for your state.  As a dealer, we also have a $110 documentation fee, $161 title/registration fee for Illinois buyers, and $10 ride-away permit fee for out-of-state buyers.

Total and utter destruction

Thu, 15 Sep 2011

Poor Ashley Beech. You've gotta feel for him. After a fraction too much throttle on the run down to Donington's Old Hairpin, the rear breaks grip amd he starts what should be a graceful slide across Craner Curve's neatly mown grass.

Unchained: 2013 Triumph Rocket III Free of Power Restrictions

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

Triumph has updated its Rocket III cruiser for 2013, adding more blacked-out components and a new seat, but perhaps the most significant change is what Triumph took away: the electronic torque limiter. Previous versions of the Triumph Rocket III and the Rocket III Touring variant had its power and torque neutered in the first three gears. The reins are off for 2013 however, with the Rocket III’s 2294cc engine delivering full power in all gears.

If Carlsberg made race circuits...

I should have filed this blog an hour earlier but I became distracted by the human circus that is the Jeremy Kyle show. It’s a shameful admission, I know, but I’m a firm believer in the policy of honesty being the best. Enjoying the luxury of working from home, I was only making myself a bacon sandwich with the TV on in the background when excited cries of ‘Freak, Freak!’ from Mrs MF drew my attention to this (see pic).
