Suzuki Other description

1968 Suzuki T500 Cobra. Very rare, highly sought after one year only model!

The bike has been stored in a heated garage for many years. Probably has not run in decades. Turns over nicely and has great compression.

I purchased it years ago as it sits and due to life, a young child and a now a divorce….I have never had a chance to start tinkering with it.

I really do not know much at all about these bikes. I just kew it was special and I had to have it.

The big items that are missing are the Chain guard, airbox, left side cover, ignition key, I know there is more missing, please look closely at the pictures, what you see is what you get. I does come with a box of parts that is also pictured. This is a perfect bike for an easy restoration.

The tittle/registration is clean and in my name.

I am Victoria BC Canada, very close to Seattle and the Washington State boarder.

If the buyer is in the USA I will help in anyway I can in shipping ing and getting it across the boarder.

I have sold bikes before that went down south and especially with one this age it is really easy and straight forward.

Please see my feedback as a seller. I want to keep it 100%!

Please do not assume anything! Ask questions first and bid only if you are ready to buy. I don’t know much about this bike at all or these bikes in general but I will do my best to answer all questions.

If you are local and want to see the bike in person we can set up a time.

During the 1960s, Suzuki showed that it was serious about staying at the forefront of the motorcycle business. In the fall of 1965, they introduced the T20 Hustler twin (aka X6 or Super Six) as a 1966 model with 250 cc displacement, automatic oil injection and the world's first six-speed transmission in a production motorcycle.[1]

In late 1967, building on their success with the T20, Suzuki introduced the T500/5 (Cobra in the US/Canada markets and Titan elsewhere) as a 1968 model.[2] This was a 500 cc twin-cylinder air-cooled bike with a five-speed transmission. It was able to do over 100 mph, durable, handled reasonably well, especially on motorways and sweeping bends and went on to be produced in the tens of thousands until the end of the 1977 model year. The "Cobra" model name was dropped at the end of the first year of production, apparently after Suzuki received a letter from the Ford Motor Company's legal department. Ford at that time had an agreement to market the Shelby Mustang "Cobra" automobile so they took offense at Suzuki's use of the name. From that time on, the T500 was known as the "Titan" in all markets until the 1976 model year.

Donington Park and the Roman rebel.

Thu, 31 Mar 2011

We know the sun always shines on the righteous and that’s exactly what happened last weekend at Donington Park. Yes its good honest people back in charge of the Derbyshire circuit so we saw summer sunshine for Friday’s free practice and also for WSB race two on Sunday. The circuit is better than ever with a new Esses section in place, and while the paddock remains unchanged, work has already started that will see gradual revamp over the year ahead.

Piaggio, Suzuki Hit with Fines by CARB

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

The California Air Resources Board has agreed to settlements with Suzuki and Piaggio for selling motorcycles that the companies did not disclose could be modified to exceed the state’s strict emission standards. Suzuki was hit with the larger of the two penalties, agreeing to a fine of $3,020,000, though the amount could be reduced by $1,812,000 if Suzuki follows certain provisions. The penalty is in addition to the previous fine of $885,000 levied by the Environmental Protection Agency for selling 25,396 LT-R450 ATVs and 62 RMX450Z dirtbikes with a racing map programmed into their ECUs that was not certified or tested. This racing map is not initially accessible to customers, unless they buy aftermarket devices to unlock the higher-performance engine mapping.
