Other Other description

Ok I purchased this at a local estate sale. I don't know much about bikes but I asked a few questions and did a bit of research so I don't sound totally lost.  This is a Hoffman Motorcycle. I thought is was a 54 but I keep being told that it must be 48 or 49 because it has a stick shift on the tank and that is supposedly the only years that this maker had made them with a stick on the tank.  Anway it is somewhere between 48/49 and 54.....the guy who told me that has to use a book on german bikes so feel free to research because you are the experts....Hoffman is a german maker and was only in business for 4 years so finding any bikes at all is rare. This bike needs restoration. The tires are dry rotted.....and all is just as the pictures show.....it has what I am guessing is the started in a box next to it. There is no mileage indicator so I have no idea how much mileage there may be, and I have no idea what makes it run.  It is a kind of thing I guess you pedal to start and as I pointed out it has that part in a box......this bike looks like the 20's Harley and would be a great restoration project. It is sold 100 percent AS IS where is....no exceptions. Please feel free to ask questions. I will do my best to answer. This is a really RARE FIND and would make a great addition to any collection. You can pick it up or have it shipped but YOU are responsible for pickup arrangements and costs if you wish to do so.
