Norton Commando description

This bike is an 850 Mk3 in Production Racer bodywork.  It is not an actual factory built Production Racer.  Numbers matching, clean Ohio title.

Electric start 850 Commando in full Production Racer bodywork.  Polished alloy tank and Production Racer fiberglass tank included.  Original Production Racer rear fender and fiberglass JPN front fender.  Adjustable Tomaselli clip-on bars.  Shoulderless alloy wheels with stainless spokes and new Avon RoadRiders.  Special fairing mount to allow reasonable steering lock.  Original Production Racer mount included.

Hyde fork brace.  Brembo 4-piston front brake with 290 mm floating disc.  Brembo rear caliper, disc, and master cylinder.  RGM rearset controls.

Speedometer shows 12283 miles, but engine, transmission, forks, etc. have less than  3,000 miles since build.  Engine is bored .020 over and cylinder head is milled for compression, has big valve conversion with lightened valve train, mild porting, 2S "Combat" grind cam, dual 34 mm Mikuni VM carburetors with K&N pod filters.  Bub "Conti-replica" mufflers.  Rod and heim joint "Dave Taylor type" head steady.

Electric starter built with 4-pole field coil and ball bearing drive end cover.  Heavy duty starter cables.

Built by owner.  I have owned this bike for a number of years, but is not the only Norton in the garage, hence the low miles.  It draws attention wherever I take it, but it is a rider, not a trailer queen.  I can no longer tolerate the riding position and need to make room for new projects.

Production of 650cc Norton models will start at the end of next year

Tue, 17 Nov 2020

In addition to the release of V4 and Commando models, the British plan to expand their lineup. The Norton V4 and Commando motorcycles, presented to the public in 2018, will not start rolling off the assembly line until the end of 2021. This is primarily due to the fact that Norton, owned by the Indian company TVS, is currently busy transferring production from Donnington Hall to Solihull.

Halloween for Motorcyclists: I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle [Video]

Some motorcycles bite, particularly those with a kick starter. Kick starter levers sometimes “kick back” as any past or current owner of a bike with a kicker will attest. But what would you do if you discovered your bike really wanted to get you?

Keanu Reeves’ Arch Motorcycle Company Featured On CNN

Tue, 11 Jun 2013

A year ago, we reported on Keanu Reeves starting his own motorcycle company, Arch Motorcycles. It was a dream that started in the actor’s head five years ago, and is slowly coming into fruition in 2013. In the video below, CNN’s George Stroumboulopoulos pays a visit to Reeves and the Arch facility, where the design and production of the latest model is taking place.
