One-Off Ferrari Tribute Motorcycle Sold for $137,700
Wed, 02 May 2012A one-off officially-endorsed Ferrari motorcycle has been sold at auction, taking in 85,000 British pounds (US$137,700). That’s a hefty sum for a motorcycle, but far less from the initial reserve price of 180,000 pounds asked for when the bike was first up for auction in 2008. The Ferrari motorcycle was designed and built by former MV Agusta engineer David Kay in 1995 as a tribute to the Italian car-maker’s founder, Enzo Ferrari.

The base model MV Agusta Brutale 1090cc will replace the 920 version that was offered in 2012, which shouldn’t be a surprise with the launch of the 675 version this year.

World Superbike testing began today at Phillip Island, site of the first race of the season. The new season also marks MV Agusta’s return as a factory team to international racing in quite some time.
