These features are combined with an impressive powertrain, making the Vulcan 900 Classic LT a no-frills cruiser that has a bite as potent as its bark. Speaking of its design, the Classic LT’s touring package features top-grain, reinforced cowhide saddlebags that have been carefully selected to minimize flaws and deep-dyed to prevent scraping off the finish. These bags feature a slant-top opening held shut by two 1.5" wide leather straps fitted with chrome buckles and stealth quick-release fasteners. The rolled and riveted top lids, along with metal reinforced upper edges on the bags, help maintain shape and keep unwanted moisture out of the bags. An embossed Vulcan logo on the reinforced dual-panel lids and chrome-plated brass studs finish off their look. When it comes to the bike’s powertrain, the Vulcan 900 Classic LT doesn’t carry peanuts to go with its stylish design. What it does have is the same engine the Vulcan 900 Classic possesses: a 903cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled, SOHC, four-cylinder V-twin engine that rolls out 58 lb/ft of torque at 3,500 rpm. Kawasaki Announces EVO Entry for World Superbike Championship
Mon, 20 Jan 2014Kawasaki announced it will enter a factory-backed EVO-category entry for the 2014 World Superbike Championship. Kawasaki has signed David Salom to ride the EVO Ninja ZX-10R. The team will be run by the same operation behind the non-EVO factory team of Loris Baz and reigning WSBK Champion Tom Sykes, forming a three-rider Kawasaki factory lineup.

Thu, 30 Jan 2014Kawasaki reported the fourth-consecutive profitable quarter from its Motorcycle & Engine business, with an operating income of 1.5 billion yen (US$14.6 million) for the three months ended Dec. 31, 2013. Through the first three quarters of its 2013-2014 fiscal year, Kawasaki’s Motorcycle & Engine division earned a operating income of 4.0 billion yen (US$38.9 million), compared to a loss of 2.0 billion yen over the same period in the year before.
Paton Enters 2014 Isle of Man TT
Wed, 19 Feb 2014Italian racebike manufacturer Paton announced its return to international racing in entering the Lightweight TT race in the 2014 Isle of Man TT. The Paton name has been around since 1958, most notably competing in the late ’90s and early 2000s in the Grand Prix World Championship, but has been relatively quiet since the end of the 500cc era. Paton will enter its all-new S1, the company’s first street-legal motorcycle.
