WSBK 2012: Assen Results

The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick. Kawasaki Entering Chinese Market

Kawasaki announced the start of operations in the world’s largest motorcycle market, China. The company actually established its new subsidiary, Kawasaki Heavy Industries Management (Shanghai), in April but the subsidiary will begin importing and selling motorcycles Aug. 18.

Öhlins-Equipped Special Edition 2014 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R Announced

A few days ago, Kawasaki revealed several 2014 models including a new Ninja 1000 updated with ABS, traction control, multiple ride modes, monobloc calipers and optional luggage. Among the model announcements was the 2014 Ninja ZX-14R with three new color options: Golden Blazed Green and Metallic Spark Black, Candy Burnt Orange and Metallic Spark Black, and Flat Ebony and Ebony. But that’s not all Kawasaki had for its 1441cc behemoth.
