Kawasaki Other description
2009 Kawasaki CONCOURS ABS, Even though it???s not a BMW it is a real Sport Touring Motorcycle in fact the Kawasaki Concours has enjoyed a long term reputation for bringing solid value and fun to the game we all enjoy so much. This is a very nice example of a low mileage machine that???s now fully serviced and ready for a new owners enjoyment. It did have a few minor scuffs when it arrived but our expert in-house detailer did a superb job of buffing them out and now it???s a solid 9.5 on a picky 10 scale cosmetically. If you look over these images closely you???ll see just how clean and well cared for this machine looks. This is a ABS equipped Concours 14 which means it???s a state of the art machine with that extra margin of safety built in, just like BMW has offered since 1989. This beauty is also equipped with paint and key matched saddlebags and the factory trunk all of which can be quickly and easily removed for those rides when you just don???t need any luggage. The exhaust system looks and even sounds aftermarket but it???s a stock Kawasaki system. These bikes also have the electrically adjustable windscreen just like BMW engineered back in the 1990???s which adds a lot of comfort in all weather or at most any speed. The two-tone black and gray seat is in superb condition and the foam is still firm and comfortable. It has a pair of remotes for the factory alarm plus two keys, the factory tool set and the owner???s manual. Priced to sell fast!

A Weighty Issue
Mon, 03 Nov 2008For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.
Kawasaki Celebrates 40th Anniversary of Z1
Mon, 16 Apr 2012This year marks the 40th anniversary of the ground-breaking Kawasaki Z1 which made its public debut in 1972, becoming what many would regard as the world’s first superbike. Kawasaki’s first large-capacity four-stroke multi-cylinder motorcycle took center stage at the 1972 IFMA, the precursor to the INTERMOT show in Cologne, Germany. Together with the Honda CB750, the Kawasaki Z1 helped spearhead the popularity of the Japanese Inline-Four.
Steam Punk Bike
Wed, 19 Jan 2011This steam-punk inspired bike is the work of LA based sculptor and, er, free thinker, Baron Margo. From what we can work out is uses an early eighties air-cooled Z1000 Kawasaki as a base and is cloaked in this hand beaten alloy and copper bodywork. Can’t imagine it’s much fun in a cross wind, though.
