INTRODUCTION:::

You are bidding on a 1978 Kawasaki Z1-R, in mostly all original factory condition. This Kawasaki Z1-R is in great running condition and cosmetically is very well preserved for its age. The bike has low original miles of 10,988 (17,685 kilometers). But please feel free to read more about the specifics of this bike and look at the pictures for verification. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. U.S. and International bidders are welcome to bid on this motorcycle but must arrange shipping themselves...

CONDITION:::

All of the body panels are in excellent condition, there no cracks or major nicks anywhere, the body work does look to be repainted by the previous owner to original factory color. The wheels are in excellent condition with perfect paint and no major chips anywhere. Exhaust is still in very nice condition with no major dents anywhere. Even the windscreen is original and in great condition. Mechanically the bike runs and rides perfect, there are no oil leaks anywhere. All of the electrical components work as they should with the exception of the fuel gauge which is non-operational but; lights, blinkers, horn, speedo, tach, warning lights, amp gauge, all work properly. The bike just had a full service tune up so mechanically everything was inspected and replaced  with original Kawasaki parts if necessary.

CONCLUSION:::

This is a great opportunity to buy a rare low mile, mostly original 1978 Kawasaki z1-r. International buyers please keep in mind that there are some small variations in original parts in different countries; this 1978 Kawasaki Z1-R is a Canadian market original specifications edition. If you need any additional pictures or have any additional questions please feel free to email us. Domestic & International buyers are welcome to bid but have to arrange the shipping themselves; however we will be glad to help with any loading of the motorcycle.  We have assisted in shipping motorcycles overseas for other customers in the past. Please feel free to bid as long as you make the shipping arrangements.

Go camping with your bike

Thu, 05 Jul 2012

Keep your bike close to you when you go camping with the MOTOTENT from motorcycle adventurers Lone Rider. Priced at £450, here's a round-up of the features from Lone Rider: The MOTOTENT is spacious enough to shelter a dual sport bike as big a BMW R1200 GSA with all its luggage, to have room to work on it, and to be able to stand in the tent. The tunnel-shaped design allows a very quick setup of the tent when needed.

A Weighty Issue

Mon, 03 Nov 2008

For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.
