WANT THE POWER OF A 450 IN A 250 FRAME, THIS IS YOUR BIKEIn 2006, Stefan Everts was reigning world champion (with a mere 14 victories in 15 Grand Prix) and then he became KTM Race Director. Back then, he could already see where the future of motocross was heading and in KTM he found an ideal partner for his vision: efficient and maximum practicable performance from smaller displacements in an overall package that's tailored unconditionally to the requirements of the rider. Four years or so later, it's ready: the new 350 SX-F. With a new engine, fuel injection system and smaller displacement, new bodywork, new chassis - in fact, a whole new concept. Mon, 03 Feb 2014Chad Reed tasted victory for the second time in three weeks at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., leading all 20 laps and fending off a last-lap challenge from rookie upstart Ken Roczen. Reed, who also won the Jan. 18 round in the second of three Anaheim races, now trails fellow Kawasaki rider Ryan Villopoto by just two points in the 2014 AMA Supercross championship race.
My dream bike for 2013: The KTM 250GPR
Fri, 26 Oct 2012I never really know when I’m asked what my dream bike would be but should Camelot shine on me this Saturday I know what I want at the moment, the KTM250GPR. At around £45,000 and with only 49bhp the Austrian firms over the counter Moto 3 racer for 2013 might not sound that appealing but I beg to differ. For starters they look stunning so I’d never get bored of looking at it in my garage but the technical spec and potential fun of taking one to a race track is what really turns me on. Far from being some motocross engine shoehorned into a steel trellis frame the 250GPR is just a small step down from Sandro Cortese’s world championship winning Moto 3 machine.
2013 KTM SX Lineup Revealed
Wed, 16 May 2012KTM revealed its 2013 motocross model lineup featuring a new 250 four-stroke engine and updates to the 350 powerplant. The 2013 KTM 250 SX-F gets a new powerplant said to be lighter than the previous engine thanks to a new high-strength aluminum alloy. The new engine has a 78mm bore and a 52.3 mm stroke, compared to the previous model’s 76mm bore and 54.8mm stroke.
