KTM Other description

2014 KTM 500 XC-W, NO freight or set up! Rekluse installed. SCORE2014 KTM 500 XC-WTHE POWERHOUSEThe 500 XC-W is one of the most powerful enduro machines of its class. Combining low weight and high displacement, high-tech SOHC 4-stroke technology is the right choice for all who are looking for maximum performance, combined with playful handling.FeaturesAirboxThe redesigned airbox offers maximum protection of the air filter against soiling while ensuring maximum airflow for top performance. The new airbox covers are produced in a 2-component process and with new inmould graphics. The left cover's mount and fitment have been improved further to allow an even quicker change of the Twin Air filter which is held more securely with an optimized latch. The filter can still be changed without using tools. In addition, two extra flaps on the cover allow to secure it with bolts if desired.HandlebarAll XC-W models are fitted with the super strong, tapered Neken handlebar made of high tensile strength aluminum alloy. The proven standard KTM mount allows to fix the handlebar in four different positions. 2014 sees the introduction of newly-developed hand guards made of 2-component polymer for more effective hand protection.GraphicsNew, classy graphics with clear lines visually underscore the exacting standards of what KTM deems a true, cutting-edge offroad bike.Triple clampsThe lower triple clamp has been redesigned for optimum accomodation of the new front fender. Thanks to its new contour and mounting with two front and two bottom bolts, the new fender has a lot more stability.

The machine is almost entirely all-new from the ground up and, KTM says, brings the company back to its street bike beginnings. KTM’s venerable 690cc LC4 single-cylinder engine is the obvious choice for power, only now it puts out a claimed 70hp and 51 lbs.-ft.

KTM Moto3 Valencia Test

Fri, 03 Feb 2012

While MotoGP factory and satellite teams held their first pre-season tests this week in Malaysia, KTM held its own test for nine riders in the new Moto3 class earlier in the week in Spain. While the premiere class’ new 1000cc engine displacement limit and Claiming Rule Team entries draw the most attention, we can’t forget MotoGP isn’t the only class in the World Championship seeing changes for 2012. The new Moto3 class also debuts this season, replacing the old 125GP class.
