Leaked Details On The Production KTM RC390

In July we broke the news of a new racebike from KTM, the RC390, which is to be used in a spec racing series in 2014. Now, we’ve received leaked information from KTM Duke 390 forum member sandy_mary with technical specs about the road going production model. Pulled from a secret page on KTM’s Canadian website, according to sandy_mary, here’s what we’ve found out.

If you’ve never seen a sidecar race, you’d be amazed at how different it is from motorcycle racing. Not only do you have some entirely different physics at work with the third wheel, you also have a passenger sprawled over the chassis behind the rider, sticking his body out to either side at lean angles that would make Marc Marquez break a sweat. KTM Unveils RC390R Combat Sportbike

The Austrian sportbike will be limited to 500 pieces. KTM knows a lot not only about tourenduro or supermoto - in its history there was an unforgettable sportbike 1190 RC8, and now there is a nimble “shorty” RC390. Each RC390R features a fully adjustable WP suspension, a different handlebar for a more racing fit, folding clutch and brake levers, and a modified engine intake tract.
