Terra Motors Kiwami Electric Sportbike Claims Literbike Performance

Japanese electric vehicle maker Terra Motors revealed a new sportbike called the Kiwami. Japanese for “extreme”, or “ultimate”, the Kiwami was revealed in India, ahead of the 2014in New Delhi in early February, making it the first electric superbike in the country. According to Terra Motors, the Kiwami offers acceleration performance equivalent to a 1000cc gasoline-powerd sportsbike.

Polaris Industries continues to throw more support behind the revived Indian Motorcycle brand with a new customer incentive it calls the “Indian Motorcycle Assurance Program”. The new program receives the support of Polaris’ financial, engineering, manufacturing and service resources to support Indian’s new 2014 lineup of the Chief Classic, Chief Vintage and Chieftain. “The Indian Motorcycle Assurance Program sets a new benchmark in the motorcycle industry for warranty coverage, service and support,” says Steve Menneto, Polaris vice president of motorcycles.

Bajaj Auto has unveiled its new naked model for the Indian market. The Bajaj Pulsar 200NS (Naked Sport) is shares many of the same components of the also recently launched KTM Duke 200, but with a few cost-cutting measures. Bajaj, of course, owns a 39.26% share of KTM so such crossover of technology should be expected.KTM will be positioned as a premium brand while the Bajaj brand will be presented as a more-affordable alternative.
