Indian Chief description

NO RESERVE
2001 Indian Chief   (less than 2000 bikes made that year)
Beautiful two tone red and white paint, well taken care of, it has the very popular SS 88 (1500cc) engine with SS carbs, only 16,811 miles (might be higher by the time it's sold). 100th year anniversary medallion in the primary cover. The saddle bags are original and are worth of over $2000 alone. I am the second owner of this bike, the first purchased it new in 2002, it's never been laid down (taking the first owners word for it). The chrome is in great shape, the only blemishes is in the chrome rims, some rust spots that were there when I bought it. New back tire, front caliper and master cylinder has been rebuilt this year, new throttle and idler cable, not installed yet, runs great the way it is. Aftermarket Trunk bag (not pictured) will be included also. This is bound to be a collectors item. I am selling it locally also, just outside of Jackson MI.  I reserve the right to deny bids according to bid history. Buyer is responsible for shipping. No trades no low balls, I don't need the money. Happy bidding

Collection Of Rare Indian Motorcycles Up For Auction, March 8

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

On March 8, four rare Indian motorcycles, some of which date back over a century, will be up for auction at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. Now in its 16th year, the single-day sale includes a stunning roster of more than 80 investment-quality vehicles including a stellar group of early Indian motorcycles. The oldest of the collection is a 1909 Indian 5HP Light Twin. This model is significant as it marks Indian’s departure from using modified bicycle frames to incorporating loop frames, previously only seen on the company’s racing motorcycles. A new, streamlined torpedo-type gas tank was fitted between the upper and lower tank rails, and oil was carried in a large capacity half-gallon tank that was fixed to the frame beneath the seat.

July Is Women’s Motorcycle Month

Wed, 03 Jul 2013

In case you’ve been living under a rock, it’s hard not to notice the rising number of women getting into the sport of motorcycling. In fact, according to the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC), women riders increased by 34% between 1998 and 2003. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) also says women make up nearly 30% of students in its Basic RiderCourses program.

WSBK Cancels Round at India’s Buddh International Circuit

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

The 2013 World Superbike Championship season will end about a month earlier than scheduled, with the cancellation of the Nov. 17 round at India’s Buddh International Circuit. The Indian round had already been moved from its originally scheduled date of March 10 but the extra few months do not appear to be enough to get the circuit ready to host WSBK in November.
