Indian Bobcat description

No Reserve Auction for a rare Indian "Bobcat" Mini-Bike.  This machine was passed along from an estate where it had been 90% (+/-) restored by the previous owner before he passed away.  It's my understanding that Mr. Floyd Clymer commissioned the development of the "Bobcat" in an attempt to determine if a market existed here in North America for a 100cc powered mini-bike so a very limited number of these "Bobcat" model variants were built using the 100cc Franco Moto Morini engine.  Unfortunately, these little scoots were determined to be too powerful and as such were never fully developed into a production intent model variant.  I have no paperwork on this little "Bobcat" so what you see is what you get.  I will be glad to provide a Bill of Sale for the buyer.  The engine turns over with very good compression and the transmission shifts through the gears.  The front brake needs to be connected and feels like it drags a bit.  The Pirelli tires appear to be original but the wheels & spokes were professionally re-plated.  The frame has been powder coated and the fuel tank wet-painted.  Again, this is a partially restored motorcycle so for safety's sake, the buyer will need to examine all mechanical and electrical aspects of this machine prior to riding it...or simply put it on display in your collection.

Additional high resolution pictures are available upon request.  Please ask questions prior to bidding...Everyone is welcome to bid however I ask that if you do have zero feedback and are sincere to please contact me via email.  Include your phone number so that I may call you to confirm your bid is legitimate.

Please review the tab labeled "Payment" to learn more about the terms, conditions and shipping information pertaining to this auction.

Thank you for your interest and good luck bidding...!

That other big spring motorcycle gathering in Florida may get all the press, but that doesn’t mean that other rallies aren’t going on there. Case in point, Panama City Beach Motorcycle Rally gets under way just about three weeks from today. The April 30th – May 4th, 2014 event kicks off with a party at the Sandpiper Beacon Beach Resort and Tiki Bar, featuring the bands Mustang Sally and Big Engine.

First Polaris-era 2012 Indian Motorcycle Rolls Off Spirit Lake Assembly Line

Wed, 31 Aug 2011

A new era has begun as the first Indian Motorcycle under the ownership of Polaris Industries has been produced at the company’s Spirit Lake, Iowa, factory. The landmark first Polaris-owned Indian won’t be heading right to the showroom floor however; instead, it will undergo extensive testing and evaluation by Polaris. As such, this particular Indian Chief Vintage, and the rest of the 2012 Indian line, will be fairly similar to Indian’s previous offerings, save for some minor updates to catch any issues Polaris already discovered.

Indian has registered a new name

Mon, 22 Apr 2019

What lies behind the promising Challenger name? The Challenger evokes strong associations with the Dodge muscle car but obviously the world will have to expand its consciousness for the foreseeable future - apparently, Indian is preparing a motorcycle of the same name. This is indicated by a patent dated March 27.
