A Closer Look a the New 900cc Husqvarna Streetbike

Husqvarna will enter the twin-cylinder market in 2012 with a variation of the F800 powertrain from Husky’s parent company BMW, enlarged to around 900cc. This supermoto-styled version will undoubtedly be accompanied by a more dirt-worthy adventure-touring model. The test mule seen in these photos appears to use several components from the BMW F800R, including its swingarm and wheels.

When Pierer Industrie AG purchased Husqvarna from BMW in January, it was obvious some major changes were on their way. Pierer Industries AG is owned by Stefan Pierer, who happens to be chief executive officer of KTM, which also happens to be the parent company of Husaberg. 40,000 bikers to descend on Garmisch-Partenkirchen

40,000 bikers are expected to head to the Bavarian town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen during the first week of July for the annual BMW Motorrad Days event and you can join them. Billed as a celebration of all things two-wheeled and BMW, the event gives you a chance to test ride all the current BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna models and see stunt-riding world champion Chris Pfeiffer and meet the BMW World Superbike riders. BMW have organised a UK rideout to the event and with over 200 places taken so far, time's running out to book your slot.
