Honda Other description

1980 Honda Z50 mini trail. I found this nice little Z50 at an estate sale. After I brought it home and cleaned it up it looked fairly complete. The shifter and brakes all work. Shift the lever and it gives resistance, I believe it should shift ok. The motor gets spark as well. I put a bit of gas in the cylinder, kicked it over twice and it fired up and idled great! Seemed to idle very smooth with no noises or knocking, it sounded really good. Compression check on the cylinder was 80 psi with no leakdown after 20 seconds. The throtte cable is complete but it is stuck, obviously the carb needs cleaned. Tires hold air but sem a bit weather checked. Knowing what I do about older motorcycles, (I used to own a few Z50's too) in my opinion this could be a fairly easy restoration. The motor has good compression, it idles smoothly, brakes work, shifter feels like it's ok. If the carb was rebuilt or cleaned, it might even start up and drive away. The owners manual on the seat goes with the bike. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. I do know a shipper that delivers in several states near mine and can supply his number if needed. There is no title, they are not required for off-road only bikes in this state.  Email for questions.

2014 WSBK – Assen Results

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

Heavy rains and a fortuitous red flag were the difference in the World Superbike Championship‘s visit to The Cathedral of motorcycle racing, the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli captured his second win of the season in Race 1, which was halted early by a red flag with five laps to go just as it looked like reigning WSBK champion Tom Sykes was gearing up for a final challenge. The second race was also shortened, not by a red flag but because of a rain, turning the 21-lap race into a 10-lap sprint.

FIM to Revise WSBK Homologation Requirements

Fri, 17 Jan 2014

The International Motorcycling Federation is considering modifying its homologation requirements for the World Superbike Championship following Bimota‘s somewhat surprising plans to re-enter the series. Under current regulations, manufacturers must produce a minimum number of motorcycles for it to be eligible to compete in the production-based WSBK championship. The official regulations currently require a minimum of 125 units produced for an initial homologation inspection, 500 units produced by June 30 of the current year, 1,000 units by the end of the current year and 2,000 units by the end of the following year.

Looking for a CBR250R or K1600GTL Forum?

Thu, 07 Apr 2011

Every year in the motorcycling world there are a few new motorcycles that gather the collective interest of enthusiasts across the country. This year those two models included the new entry-level sportbike from Honda, the CBR250R, and the new luxo-touring bike from BMW, the K1600GT and K1600GTL. While enthusiasts are gearing up for delivery of their new bikes there is a place for them to enthusiastically discuss their new purchase, or perhaps, for those who have not yet purchased, a sounding board for their thoughts.
