Thanks.****** For those of you not familiar with these bikes ********One of the 3 original Nighthawk models introduced in 1982, the 650-cc Nighthawk was the last model to have the SINGLE OVERHEAD CAM in-line 4 cyl engine. For 1983 a new DOUBLE OVERHEAD CAMSHAFT engine replaced the SINGLE OVERHEAD CAM engine pre-owned since 1979. The new engine was very well received and much improved. No other motorcycle at the time had incorporated all these no-and low-maintenance features like hydraulic valve-lash adjusters and clutch actuation; self-setting cam chain and starter chain tensioners; electronic ignition and an oil cooler were added. Also, the DUAL OVERHEAD CAM Engine was 3.8 ins narrower than last year's CB650 and was rubber mounted. This year also saw the move from chain drive to shaft-drive for this model. Gearbox was nowsix gear. Air adjustable front shocks with the TRAC anti-dive system were added as well as rear shocks with adustable dampers. No other 650 at the time had more power than the new CB650sc . Its acceleration places it among 750 performers. This year, 1985 was the final production year for the CB650sc Nighthawk.

Classic Off-Road Bikes Featured in Braving Baja: 1,000 Miles to Glory Exhibition

Fifty years later, that legendary run is remembered for inspiring one of the most significant off-road races in the world—the Baja 1000. In celebration, the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is hosting a tribute dinner, one-day off road show, and summer-long exhibition called Braving Baja, 1,000 Miles to Glory.
