Honda Gold Wing description

1989 Honda GL 1500 Gold Wing Touring Motorcycle

Up for auction we are offering this 1989 Honda GL 1500 Gold Wing Touring Motorcycle.
Things to know about this Motorcycle: The bike has been in my clients warehouse for 2-1/2 Years. When we received the bike we drained out the old fuel cleaned the carbs & installed a New Battery. The Bike Starts up and runs. It idles ruff when cold but when it warms up it runs good with just a slight hesitation in the throttle response. I took the bike out for a ride, It rides smooth with plenty of power. It goes threw the gears smoothly when shifting the gears. The Motorcycle may need to have the clutch adjusted, when I take the bike and place it into first gear it sometimes wants to grind the gears slightly before going into gear. But once the bike has been riden it seems to smooth out.  Because the bike has been sitting for this period of time we recommend that the winning bidder tune-up the motorcycle and replace all fluids & filters. The milage on the bike is correct with just under 16,000 orginial miles. The Motorcycle has a set of Dunlap 491 Elite II Front & Rear Tires. Tire tread looks good, not sure if these are the factory tires or if they were added on at a later date. The Brakes: The Front Brake works correctly with no issues. The rear brake works but not as it should. The rear brake pedal goes all the way down before it wants to stop the bike. "May need to replace rear master cylinder"

The Body, Paint & Seat: The paint on this bike is the Wineberry Burgundy Color. The paint on this bike has no fading to the color. It has a few scratches here and there. The mirrors have some old scratches that have been touched up with touch-up paint. The right side of the bikes saddle bag has some deep scratches just above the red reflector lights as seen in the images and old paint splatter on the right side of the bag as well. The Seats and Head Rest all look good with no tears and no heavy wear.

STANDARD AMENITIES ON THE '89  MODEL INCLUDE:
*LEGENDARY Reverse gear that works great.
*Factory AM/FM Cassette Radio w/Integrated Intercom System, That all works. Please note: I don't have a cassette tape to test the cassette player so I cannot tell you if the cassette player works or not.
*On-Board Air Compressor for rear air shock control and external air source.

With all of this being said this Motorcycle is very clean and is in Very Good Used Running Condition.
In need of a new owner that wants to invest a little time and love into a low mileage machine that will give years of pleasure at a great affordable price.

How to solve the mystery of the wildcard replacement

Wed, 30 Jun 2010

With the two test riders coming forward to act as replacement riders for the injured Rossi and Aoyama, it brought back memories of the days when the grid would be gifted with wildcard riders from the respective countries. The Japanese rounds were always attended by some of the top guys with experience of the 500GP and MotoGP bikes, through racing them in their domestic championships. What resulted was getting to witness the exciting and talented Japanese riders, and bring new riders to the attention of the teams.
