Honda Gold Wing description

+++1988 HONDA GOLDWING GL1500 ASPENCADE, PHANTOM GRAY , LOADED WITH USUAL GOLDWING AMENITIES PLUS EXTRAS,+++

+++EXCELLENT APPEARANCE AND MECHANICAL CONDITION, RUNS AND SHIFTS PERFECTLY, READY TO GO ANYWHERE+++

PAINT AND CLEAR COAT ARE BOTH HIGH EXCELLENT. CLEAR COAT VERY SHINY, NO FADE, PLASTIC STILL VERY SHARP. BIKE ALWAYS GARAGED WHEN NOT BEING RIDDEN AND IT SHOWS.

SIGNS OF WELL ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION INCLUDE :

+++CLEAN NON CORRODED VALVE COVERS (SEE PHOTOS)+++

+++CLEAN VERY SHARP DASH, RADIO, HANDLEBAR SWITCH LETTERING+++

+++ CLEAN SHARP EMBLEMS AND "GOLDWING" SCRIPT (AGAIN, SEE PHOTOS)+++

BIKE HAS ALSO HAD THE "LOW SPEED DRIVABILITY" MODIFICATION TO FIX THE LOW SPEED HESITATION THAT PLAGUED MANY OF THE '88 AND '89 MODELS. MOD COST OVER $1000. BEWARE OF '88 AND '89 MODELS THAT HAVE NOT HAD THIS MOD.

GOLDWINGS STARTED A "WHOLE NEW WORLD" IN TOURING MOTORCYCLES WITH THE FIRST GL1000 IN 1975. ALWAYS KNOWN FOR RELIABILITY AND LONGEVITY, THE GL1500 WAS A QUANTUM LEAP FROM ALL PREVIOUS MODELS. STILL HORIZONTAL OPPOSED ENGINE,  SHAFT DRIVEN, LIQUID COOLED, AND THE SMOOTHEST THING ON 2 WHEELS, THE 1500 WAS THE FIRST WITH 6 CYLINDERS.

ALWAYS KNOW FOR LONGEVITY (250 K OR MORE ON EARLIER ONES) THE 1500 RAISED THE BAR CONSIDERABLY. MANY GL1500'S ARE STILL GOING STRONG WITH 300K OR MORE MILES. HAVE ACTUALLY SEEN A COUPLE OVER 500K MILES, STILL GOING STRONG ON ORIGINAL ENGINE.

+++SO THIS ONE IS REALLY JUST GETTING BROKEN IN WITH 70K MILES AND LOTS MORE TO GO +++

STANDARD AMENITIES ON THE 88 GOLDWING INCLUDED:

++++FACTORY AM/FM RADIO WITH INTEGRATED INTERCOM SYSTEM +++

+++ON-BOARD AIR COMPRESSOR FOR REAR AIR SHOCK CONTROL AND EXTERNAL AIR SOURCE+++

+++ELECTRONIC CRUISE CONTROL WITH ACCEL/DECEL/RESUME, JUST LIKE  YOUR CAR'S ++++

++++LEGENDARY GOLDWING ++++REVERSE+++++

++++MANY NICE EXTRAS ON THIS ONE INCLUDING++++

+++CHROME ROTOR COVERS AND FORK GUARD+++

+++CHROME SIDE COVER AND SADDLEBAG SCUFF GUARDS +++

+++CHROME TRUNK LUGGAGE RACK+++

+++SADDLEBAG, TRUNK, AND FAIRING SIDE REFLECTORS ALL CHANGED TO LIGHTS+++

TIRES ARE BOTH BRAND NEW. RECENT FORK SEALS, NEWER SEAT, NEW REAR BRAKES, AND NEWER FRONT BRAKE PADS.

BIKE RUNS AND SHIFTS PERFECTLY AND I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO TAKE IT ANYWHERE.

++++PLEASE NOTE AGAIN THAT THIS IS A +++NO RESERVE+++ AUCTION. HIGH BIDDER WILL DEFINITELY WIN. NO WONDERING AT WHAT PRICE IT IS REALLY FOR SALE!!!

THAT BEING SAID --- PLEASE BID ONLY IF READY AND ABLE TO BUY. NON-PAYING HIGH BIDDERS JUST MUCK IT UP FOR THE REST OF US.

++++ABSOLUTELY NO CAPITAL ONE AUTO FINANCE CHECKS!!!! (DON'T EVEN ASK)

CAN SHIP ALMOST ANYWHERE BUT NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO FLY IN AND RIDE HOME THROUGH SOME BEAUTIFUL ROCKY MOUNTAIN SCENERY. CLOSEST AIRPORT IS SALT LAKE CITY. YOU GET THERE, I'LL GET YOU TO THE BIKE (OR VICE VERSA) BE SURE TO CHECK SOUTHWEST AS THEY DON'T SHOW UP ON THE TRAVEL WEBSITES.

IF NEW TO EBAY (LESS THAN 10 FEEDBACKS) PLEASE EMAIL ME BEFORE BIDDING. MY ALMOST 3300 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK RECORD SPEAKS FOR MY INTEGRITY AS A SELLER SO THINK THAT FAIR IF YOU DON'T HAVE A TRACK RECORD.

PLEASE NOTE REQUIREMENT FOR IMMEDIATE DEPOSIT PAYMENT. JUST TOO MANY FLAKES ON EBAY LATELY SO WANT TO KNOW FOR SURE THAT HIGH BIDDER IS REALLY GOING TO BUY.

++++THIS IS A SHARP SUPER LOOKING  BIKE THAT IS GOING TO MAKE SOMEONE A HAPPY NEW RIDER!! ++++

+++THANKS FOR LOOKING AND KEEP PRAYING FOR OUR TROOPS! (USAF, USAR, RET)+++

Awesome Anaheim Supercross

Fri, 11 Jan 2013

The highlight of this winter has to be my visit to last week’s Anaheim Californian Supercross.  I’ve followed this spectacular series on Motors TV but the atmosphere while watching the action live is something else. Forty five Yankee dollars gets you a good seat high in the stadium, with practice starting at 12.30pm and the main event kicking off at 7.30pm. If you are making a day of it however, I’d recommend buying a pit pass then you can get in full anorak mode to hassle the teams and riders for autographs and photos.  We conveniently made some new friends allowing us to do some pre event ‘tail gating’, a great concept which is basically barbecuing and downing beer around your vehicle in the surrounding car parks.  The evening race schedule is four hours of nonstop action starting with the capacity crowd standing for the American national anthem sung by a stunning blonde with a huge voice.

Honda Re-Signs Marc Marquez Through 2016 MotoGP Season

Wed, 14 May 2014

Marc Marquez has signed a contract extension with Honda Racing Corporation that will see the reigning MotoGP champion stay with the manufacturer through the end of the 2016 season. “We are very satisfied to have reached an agreement to keep Marc in the team for a further two seasons,” says Shuhei Nakamoto, executive vice president of HRC. “Of course, as Honda, we wanted to keep Marc in our family, and he also wanted to stay with us so … it was natural to renew the contract even if it is very early in the season!

FIM to Revise WSBK Homologation Requirements

Fri, 17 Jan 2014

The International Motorcycling Federation is considering modifying its homologation requirements for the World Superbike Championship following Bimota‘s somewhat surprising plans to re-enter the series. Under current regulations, manufacturers must produce a minimum number of motorcycles for it to be eligible to compete in the production-based WSBK championship. The official regulations currently require a minimum of 125 units produced for an initial homologation inspection, 500 units produced by June 30 of the current year, 1,000 units by the end of the current year and 2,000 units by the end of the following year.
