Honda CBR description

2013 HONDA CBR500R ABS, The Next Step Up. With the introduction of the all-new CBR500R, Honda boldly redefines the middleweight class and infuses a whole new level of excitement for sport riders in search of superior value, along with great fun. The CBR500R delivers plenty of performance to sport riders, with its thoroughly modern, torquey 500cc P-twin DOHC engine wrapped in a great-handling chassis and featuring a full fairing spawned from Honda s much-acclaimed CBR600RR and CBR1000RR sportbikes. The CBR500R features a full bodywork cowl and a 31-inch seat height. It s an excellent choice for riders ready to move up a displacement class, or for any rider who s looking for a light, sporting, do-it-all street machine. Parallel Twin-Cylinder Engine An all-new design, the CB500R is built with a high-performance, liquid-cooled 500cc DOHC parallel-twin engine that offers plenty of accessible power. Honda twins have always been some of the best motorcycle engines anywhere reliable, efficient, and fun to ride. Sporting Heritage The CBR500R offers a riding position that s a touch more sporting, but not too aggressive, whether you re commuting or carving the canyons. Honda Genuine Accessories The CBR500R has a full line of available Honda Genuine Accessories including a sport screen, color-matched passenger seat cowl, and carbon-look accents. Practicality was never so much fun. Its combination of lightweight and rider-friendly engine makes the CBR500R a great choice for commuting, weekend rides, or just getting out and having fun. Plus, its lower seat height makes it easier to get your feet on the ground when you stop. Options & Pricing The CBR500R features a brand-new engine and chassis. Like the machines that made Honda famous throughout the U.S., its two-cylinder parallel-twin layout provides a wide powerband and plenty of torque, while a counterbalance keeps things running smooth. Special touches like the CBR500R sport seating position, lower handlebars and minimal bodywork make it a great choice for someone who likes the lithe, athletic touches of a sportbike but wants something more versatile than a race replica. Available ABS on the CBR500R helps you make smoother, more controlled stops under less-than-ideal conditions.

WSBK 2013: Donington Park Race Report

Mon, 27 May 2013

Tom Sykes had an outstanding weekend in front of his home fans, scoring a pair of wins at the World Superbike Championship round at the United Kingdom’s Donington Park. The Kawasaki racer led every session from first qualifying onwards, before leading all 23 laps in both races for the double. The double victory brings Sykes to within 4 points of series leader Sylvain Guintoli who had a decent weekend himself with a pair of podium finishes.

WSBK 2013: Phillip Island Race Report

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

Max Biaggi who? The Roman Emperor’s retirement after winning the 2012 World Superbike Championship marked the end of an era for Aprilia, with the 2013 campaign marking the first without Biaggi since the Italian manufacturer came back to the WSBK scene with the RSV4. If Aprilia misses its two-time WSBK Champion, it sure didn’t show it with a dominating display at the 2013 season opener in Australia.

Honda to Introduce Larger “New Concept” Models for North America

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

Honda announced it is following up on its NC700 series with a new large-sized model, with sales expected to begin in North America in 2013. Honda first announced plans for its NC700 models in at the 2010 EICMA show with a concept it called the “New Mid“, so it really shouldn’t be a surprise Honda would follow it up with a “New Large” series. The new models were announced in a presentation by Honda Chief Executive Officer Takanobu Ito alongside plans to develop a new MotoGP-derived sportbike.
