Harley-Davidson Touring description

Great looking Road King Classic in like new condition with many extras and very low miles. The paint is Merlot/Cherry and it looks like new. Always garage kept and properly maintained. Just had the 5k mile service with synthetic oil and no problems found. The bike has just over 5,000 miles and runs very strong. The bike came from the factory with electronic cruise, ABS brakes and security system. It has the 96 cubic inch twin-cam engine with fuel injection and throttle by wire. The engine and drive train and exhaust are all factory stock and no tuners and it has plenty of power. My wife and I ride two-up all the time and it is a pleasure to ride and the bike gets compliments wherever we go. Get an almost new HD Road King Classic for much less than you would pay new and you'll probably pay much less at the tag agency too. I've listed the upgrades and the total (parts and labor) I paid for them for some perspective. The bike has a couple of slight imperfections, a small dent on the gas tank cover (noted in the pics, trim piece available from HD for about $65) and some slight abrasions on the left saddle bag from rubbing the garage door opening backing out (oops, did it once), barely noticeable.

Take a look at the many pics below and consider the upgrades and you'll see the bike is worth the reserve price being asked. The title is clean and clear; no wrecks, drops, tips or anything that would hurt it. All shipping and delivery costs, taxes, transfer fees and any other fees are the responsibility of the buyer. The buyer is required to take possession of the bike within 15 days of winning the auction. The buyer is expected to make a $500 deposit within 48 hours of winning the auction and complete payment within 7 days of winning the auction. The bike will not be released until funds have cleared the bank. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time before the Reserve is met or Buy it Now is used. Buyer is responsible for vehicle inspection before winning Auction. The bike is being sold as is, no warranty.

Fall touring and cruising is a great way to see Autumn, so take advantage of this deal soon as you can! Thanks for looking at my auction!

Upgrades (all done by Harley dealer):

- Heritage handle bars (more rider comfort than stock bars)

- Highway pegs (Adjustable) for rider

- Adjustable Passenger Peg Mounts and pegs (Wife likes to move from floor boards to these for long rides)

- Sundowner seat (basket weave matches RK Classic), much more comfortable than stock

- Quick connect mount system for luggage rack and back rest

- Luggage Rack, removable

- Passenger back rest, removable

- Rider's Adjustable Back Rest, removable

- 12 volt power port (cigarette lighter type)

- Saddle Bag Liners (makes packing and toting easy)

- Helmet lock, two

- Combo Speedometer (Speedometer, Tach, Gear Indicator, Settable night color, much nicer than stock speedo)

Cost to add upgrades: About $2,400

Items noted as removable are easy to remove for theft deterrence like when staying overnight at a hotel or just changing the look of the bike.

More Miles From Dunlop’s 2nd-Gen American Elite Tires

Thu, 14 Mar 2013

Dunlop says its second-generation of American Elite tires provide increased mileage, and come in a variety of new styles. Designed with Dunlop’s MT Multi-Tread technology, with a long-wearing center compound and grippier compounds on each edge, the new American Elite’s should pique the interest of Harley FL owners. The second-gen series of American Elites are also now available with narrow white bar sidewalls and wide white walls along with the original black sidewall, providing FL owners more choices.  For riders of Harley-Davidson FL Touring bikes, model year 2009 and later, the new second-generation American Elite tires with Multi-Tread are available in 130/80B17 and 180/65B16 black sidewall, 130/80B17 and 180/65B16 narrow white sidewall, 130/90B16 and 180/65B16 wide white sidewall, with the 130/70B18 front tire available for select CVO bikes. For recent-model Softail owners, including models such as the Fat Boy, the MH90-21, 140/75R17 and 200/50R17 sizes of American Elite are also available.

Motus Hires Former H-D Test Rider + Video

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

Bruce Edmiston was a Harley-Davidson test rider for over 20 years. In that time, he estimates he’s racked up well north of 500,000 miles on a wide variety of motorcycles from many different parts of the world. He retired from Harley-Davidson in 2009, but the prospect of helping Motus develop an all-American sport-tourer was just the opportunity he needed to come out of retirement and utilize his test riding expertise.

A Seattle Seahawks-Themed Motorcycle. Why? Because Football. And Charity.

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

With the return of football season upon us (that’s American football for our international readers), we thought it best to feature, what else, but a motorcycle. In this particular case, it’s a Seattle Seahawks-themed custom based on a 2005 Harley-Davidson Road King, the same year the Hawks made it to the Super Bowl. The man behind the custom, award-winning bike builder and Seattle resident, Keith Wong, was approached by Patrick ‘PT’ Town, the founder and executive director of Union Ride & Charity Rally - a charity event to raise money for several non-profits including Northwest Harvest, A.N.E.W., Helmets to Hardhats and the Awareness, Education and Prevention of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in Youth Football.
