Harley-Davidson Touring description

2009 HARLEY DAVIDSON FLHTP ELECTRA GLIDE POLICE

This ex-police bike was recently purchased at the auction from a bank. The bike had been previously customized. The original model is a FLHTP which is the Electra Glide Police. It comes with the 103ci engine, fuel injected and 6-speed. This model also has ABS and cruise control. The custom work done to this is to resemble a FLHX Street Glide. The color is silver metallic and done to a high quality. There are a few chips with the worst spot being the bottom of the right saddle bag. There are no dents or major blemishes. The chrome is in very good condition as well with a little pitting on the right fairing bracket. The seat has two small burn holes. I have safety checked and detailed the bike. I installed a new battery, new front motor mounts (Glide-Pro), and new front fairing brackets. I had to install a new radio head unit since the previous one was missing the face. The stereo is a JVC bluetooth/Sirus marine unit. The previous system had and is still installed an amplifier, upgraded front speakers and Kenwood rear speakers. Everything works on the entire unit and it is loud. The radio does not work since there is no antenna on the bike. All the gauges, horn and lights work 100%. The brakes have about 55% pad life. The front tire has about 50% tread left. The rear tire is almost new. It is the Dunlop SP Sport 195 tire. I have taken this bike on a reliability run and the engine, clutch and gear box all work and sound as they should.

Want to Buy the Pope’s Harley?

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

In February, Bohnams auction house in Paris will allow both the Catholic and the Harley faithful to bid on a Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide owned by none other than Pope Francis, himself. Given to the Pope last year as part of the Harley-Davidson 110th anniversary celebration, the bike was unlikely to become the Popecycle because of the security required to protect the pontiff. The Pope donated the Dyna to the Roman Catholic charity Caritas Roma but not before signing the tank with “Francesco” at a special ceremony at the Vatican last November.
