Harley-Davidson Reveals Project Livewire

Yesterday we published a scoop on what we believed to be a production electric motorcycle by, of all companies, Harley-Davidson, dubbed “Livewire.” Today, H-D officially announced Project LiveWire as the company’s first electric motorcycle.However, it appears as though our speculation about LiveWire going into production was a bit off base. Instead, The Motor Company is continuing with its customer-led product development approach and letting riders decide whether or not LiveWire sees the light of day. Starting next week select consumers across the country will be able to ride and provide feedback on the bike, helping to shape the future of Harley-Davidson’s first-ever electric motorcycle. While not for sale, Project LiveWire is specifically designed for the purpose of getting insight into rider expectations of an electric Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Edelweiss Bike Travel And Harley-Davidson Team Up

Harley-Davidson is teaming up with Edelweiss Bike Travel as part of its Harley-Davidson authorized tours program to offer riders a brand-new selection of premium riding tours across Europe and Africa. Edelweiss Bike Travel has more than 30 years of expertise in worldwide motorcycle touring and has created a range of once-in-a-lifetime touring rides for both new and experienced riders. The new Harley-Davidson authorized tours provided by the Edelweiss team include a breath-taking ride through the beauty of the Bavarian Forest and ancient Habsburg Empire, a spectacular journey through the rugged scenery of Scotland and an unforgettable adventure through the stunning landscape of Morocco on the African continent.

Zero Enters South American Market

Zero Motorcycles has signed a distribution deal with the Brazilian dealer network Grupo Izzo, bringing its electric motorcycles to first Brazil, and soon across South America. Brazil is one of the world’s fastest growing markets for motorcycles, a market Zero hopes to tap with its new distribution deal. Grupo Izzo is based mainly in Brazil with 11 locations, but has plans to expand into other South American countries.
