Harley-Davidson Touring description

Up for auction is a retired police bike, (FlH/P1), that I purchased in August of 2015 from the city of Hot Springs Arkansas. It was purchased new by them in 1996, so that makes me the second owner. Not bad for a 20 year old bike. I saved a copy of the original title that will verify the progression of ownership. It was used by them as a training bike for their new officers and from the scars on the crash bars it's been down a few times. I also saved the pictures of the original condition which was dirty and some damaged
parts but overall not bad.The front fender has two dents on the top from the shocks bottoming out. Also the tank has scuff marks on  it, probably from the officers throwing a leg across the top and hitting it with his spurs.

Mechanically the bike is in very good condition and is ready for the road with few upgrades or repairs needed.  This has the Evolution engine which is normally good for 100,000 miles providing the maintenance is performed as scheduled.  It has S&S fuel injectors, installed I was told two years ago by Little Rock Harley-Davidson, the tires are acceptable for this season but will require replacing in about 3-5 thousand miles.  All of the lights function as designed and the wiring has not been butchered with splices or crimp connectors.  The siren, lights, radio and other police items have all been removed and the wiring terminated correctly. The engine runs very strong through all the gears and tracks straight when at highway speed. The fluids have changed for this year; Red Line for the primary and trans, Mobil One 20-40 for the engine.

The motor starts very easily and no choke is needed with fuel injection, the idle is set at 1100 rpm and as with all Evo rubber mounted engines a little rough on idle but is absolutely smooth at higher RPMs. It has a new trailer hitch. new windshield, new police seat, new under seat cover. the mufflers are stock along with the headers so it has a subdued exhaust tone. The idle was rough when I got it so I changed the engine temperature senor and the crank speed sensor and its correct now. I was going to up grade to true duals but decided to keep it stock. The engine sound could be improved. The tank has been repainted but is OK for now. Included with the bike is the owners manual, Harley repair manual, and police bike supplement. The original factory key fits the ignition, steering lock, and bags and the numbers are on the key.

So why am I selling if this is such a good motorcycle: I'm 74 and when I bought it I was in good health and of above average body strength which is not the case now.  It's too heavy for my knees so I'm selling my big bikes.

There is a non-refundable deposit price of $300.00.  I can deliver for a loaded mile price of $1.25 but there is a 500 mile limit, also the delivery charge must be paid in advance.  I will need help when unloading from the trailer. I will accept cash or a cashiers check or with prior approval Paypal for the full amount. Please call me in advance if Paypal is going to be used. If there are questions or just to chat about this machine,  use the contact owner button and I'll get back to you  promptly. Thanks for looking.
