Harley-Davidson Touring description

This is a super clean 1981 Harley Davidson Tour Glide classic (FLTC). If you love shovel head motors, like Road Glides and want a showroom condition bike to ride to Born Free this might be the perfect bike for you. Of if you are a collector and want a beautiful bike that runs and stops great, this is probably the nicest Tour Glide you will ever see. I've owned it for 2 years, and since purchasing it, i had chrome lowers added, and upgraded to 4-piston brakes for much more stopping power. It also has a brand new Mustang seat. The new owner does get the "bear trap suspension and seat that the bike had when i purchased it, and the Tour Pak backrest is included, though it is not shown in every picture.
The previous owner was a Harley Davidson mechanic and upgraded just about everything on this bike. The fairing is a later year (deleting the 81 fairing reflectors) and the Tour Pak is a later year as well. The top end has been rebuilt,
pistons, rings, cylinders, oil pump and belt drive. It has progresseive shocks, S&S carburetor, Eclipse radio head unit,
ipod chord and remote. ALso has custom chrome grips, highway pegs, fog lights, brake/shifter pedal, derby cover,
inspection cover, lubggage rack, saddlebag lid and side rails  and tour trunk accent rails.
This bike starts right up, runs great and stops well. There are no scratches, dents or dings and the chrome
is in excellent condition. There is a minor scuff and touch-up on the tour pack. Included is 3 sets of keys, IPod remote and 1981 FLT service manual,  parts catalog and owners manual.

This bike can be seen in San Diego CA, and i am happy to assist with shipping.

New Harley-Davidson Sportster for India to Use 500cc V-Twin

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

When Harley-Davidson first entered the Indian market, The Motor Company decided to import existing models as complete knockdown kits for final assembly in the burgeoning market. Considering the average motorcycle in India has a displacement smaller than 200cc, it was inevitable Harley-Davidson would eventually have to produce a small-displacement model rather than rely on its existing product line which currently lists the 883cc sportsters as its smallest bikes. Despite a denial last May by Harley-Davidson India’s Managing Director Anoop Prakash, it now appears Harley-Davidson is set to announce a new small-displacement model to be produced in India at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo next February.

Blues Brothers Too Old for Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary Celebration?

Fri, 10 May 2013

Comedian Dan Aykroyd says he offered to bring his Blues Brothers act to Harley-Davidson‘s 110th Anniversary celebrations but was turned down because H-D executives said the act was too old for the company’s target demographics. Aykroyd, playing the role of Elwood J. Blues with the late John Belushi playing “Joliet” Jake Blues, posted a statement on his official Facebook page suggesting Elwood is trading in his Harley-Davidson motorcycle for a Can-Am Spyder.

AMA Pro Racing Announces Basic Twins Flat Track Class for 2014 Season

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

AMA Pro Racing announced a new class for Flat Track racing designed to provide a new stepping stone for up-and-coming Pro-licensed racers, replacing the Pro Singles class in 2014. The new class, to be called Basic Twins, is more or less a revival of the Basic Expert Twins division that ran during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, but dropped when the Pro Singles class was introduced for 2009. The new class will give young racers a chance to showcase their skills on Twins, easing their transition to eventually enter the Grand National Expert Twins class.
