Harley-Davidson Touring description

Up for auction today I have a 1958 Harley Servi Car Model G. This is different than my usual bikes. It is not restored. I got this from an estate and decided it looked to good to restore.
Here is what I can tell you about this bike. It is a 1958 Model G Servicar with a 45 cu.in. Harley Flathead motor and 3 speed with reverse transmission.(only 283 Model G made in 1958 very rare) It has 34 miles on the new speedo. I have no idea the total millage. I was told that at one time it was a police Servicar in the Detroit, MI. area. It is painted Candy Red with Blake Ghost Flames. It has been converted to 12 volt system with a 12 volt Cycle Electric generator-regulator combo, also has added turn signals for safety. After I got it I repaired all the wiring, added a new horn, Ign. switch, seat, battery, inline petcock, tank divider strip, and dash cover. I drained and flushed the gas and oil tanks, rebuilt the original Linkert M-18 carb, added new gas and oil, started it and ran it through the gears. It doesn't smoke but does leak a few drops of oil like they all do. It is ready to go but may need a little  minor adjustments to the timing and carb. It has a Mallory Billet A576 distributor, new clutch, complete chain guard, chrome rear wheels and hub caps with American Classic wide whitewall 165R-15 tubeless tires and Classic wide whitewall 5:10-16  front tire.(good tread on all tires) custom rear bumper, box is great with all new wood floor and battery in box, Hydraglide front end with locking handle mechanical brake, hyd. rear drum brakes, chrome is nice except for a little rust on the spoke nipples, paint is very nice with a few minor chip repairs.
If you have any questions please ask and I will do my best to get you a speedy answer.

Harley-Davdison Museum Opens Tsunami Motorcycle Exhibit

Wed, 24 Oct 2012

From Miyagi Prefecture in Japan to Graham Island in British Columbia, Canada, to Milwaukee, Wis., the motorcycle tossed across the Pacific Ocean by the 2011 Japanese tsunami has landed at the Harley-Davidson Museum. The 2004 Harley-Davidson Softail Night Train owned by earthquake and tsunami survivor Ikuo Yokoyama is now on display at the museum as a memorial to those affected by the March 2011 tsunami. The motorcycle will be preserved in the condition it was in when Canadian beachcomber Peter Mark found it inside a cargo box that washed up on Graham Island in May.

10-seater Harley. Just what you need.

Tue, 04 Aug 2009

Ever gone to take your Harley for a spin and thought "You know, I wish this thing had a couple more seats, infact no, I wish it had 10". Well, you might not have done that, I know I haven't, but one man who did was Steve Hopkins who built this bike using 7 Harley-Davidson engines some which date back over 100 years. To prove it rides, Hopkins and nine passengers hopped on the bike on Saturday to start the 900 mile ride from Wisconsin to Sturgis.
