Harley-Davidson Sportster description

Completely restored 1973 XLCH 1000 Ironhead Sportster.  Partial list of new genuine Harley Davidson parts: tachometer, speedometer, speedometer cable, tachometer cable, brake hose, rear brake rod, handle bars, grips forks, front wheel, rocker covers, primary cover, kicker cover, exhaust, foot pegs, chain, wiring harness, brake light switch, regulator, battery box and strap, ignition switch, oil tank, rear wheel and tire, striping and decals, misc. nuts and bolts and other new parts.  Actual mileage before restoration was around 19,000.  

 

Professional motorcycle mechanic also replaced the clutch, head gaskets and upgraded the coil/ignition and made all adjustments needed to have it operate correctly.  

 

There are no dings, scratches, rips, tears, or rust.  Everything works like it supposed to.  It has a clear title and includes the original owner's manual.

 

The bike can be picked up by shipper or in person after full payment has been made.

Harley-Davidson Donated $4.5 Million to Various Causes in 2012

Harley-Davidson donated more than $4.5 million to support various charitable groups in 2012. The donations, which include both grants and merchandise, went to several organizations, including those around Harley-Davidson‘s bases in Milwaukee, Wis., York, Pa., and Kansas City, Mo., but also to groups across the nation. The Milwaukee chapter of Habitat for Humanity received a $200,000 grant for its Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative, helping fund housing projects in the Washington Park community.

Donation of Photos and Memorabilia to Harley-Davidson Museum Reveal Glimpse of Early Days at Harley

Harley-Davidson Museum today posted on its Facebook page a selection of photos it received as part of collection of images and memorabilia donated by a former Harley employee. According to the Facebook post former H-D employee Bob Jameson donated “ two scrapbooks, numerous photographs, news clippings and other company related materials” for the museum’s collection. Jameson, following in his father’s footsteps, worked for The Motor Company, and in 1960 helped develop a motorcycle suited for use in the Vietnam war.

Marlon Brando Estate Files Suit Against Harley-Davidson

Brando Enterprises, an operating entity that protects the Marlon Brando brand on behalf of the actor’s family, has filed a lawsuit against Harley-Davidson. The suit alleges Harley-Davidson used the legendary actor’s name without a license for a leather riding boot called “The Brando”. “It is interesting that Harley-Davidson – a company that is vigorously protective of its own brand – would seek to exploit an iconic property without benefit of a licensing agreement,” says  Jeffrey I.
