Harley-Davidson Softail description

1992 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail   needs a little work - approximately 1 weekend or one day & be riding. Was owned by an old friend. I am 65 and don't feel like doing the things that it needs to make it right. Had ape hangers, about 17" on it. I put Fat Boy bars back on it. Soldered the wires on one side, needs the other side finished. Needs dash rewired with switch, included. He has been running without the switch. Needs the two breakers in the battery box, he has wired around them. Needs a starter. The Screaming Eagle Carburetor that is with it will go. I removed the S & S Super B with acc pump that he had been running on it. It was mine. Bike ran great top end done about a year ago. No smoke, charging system worked good. Good title. Will get you on a Harley cheap with little work. Bid to win. I will only run this bike on eBay one time. If it doesn't sell, my son will pull the motor & primaries & put in my Old Skool Bonneville Racer. My friend has owned this bike since it was almost new. Have no idea of the actual miles. Mileage is exempt. All parts shown will go with it. He was running it without the front brake because the cables was to short. The seat is just sitting on it, not bolted down. Has a nice 80 spoke - twisted spoke rear wheel that he put on it new.

Due to non-paying bidders ---If you are new to eBay or have a feedback rating of less than 5, we require that you email us with your name, location and intent to bid before you place a bid -- or your bid will be blocked/removed.

A $500 PayPal deposit is due within 24 hours. Balance to be paid by cashiers check or personal check.
Can deliver for $.75 a mile one way. Checks must clear before bike can be picked up or delivered.

Harley-Davidson and an American Hero

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.

Harley-Davidson Reveals Project Livewire

Thu, 19 Jun 2014

Yesterday we published a scoop on what we believed to be a production electric motorcycle by, of all companies, Harley-Davidson, dubbed “Livewire.” Today, H-D officially announced Project LiveWire as the company’s first electric motorcycle. However, it appears as though our speculation about LiveWire going into production was a bit off base. Instead, The Motor Company is continuing with its customer-led product development approach and letting riders decide whether or not LiveWire sees the light of day. Starting next week select consumers across the country will be able to ride and provide feedback on the bike, helping to shape the future of Harley-Davidson’s first-ever electric motorcycle. While not for sale, Project LiveWire is specifically designed for the purpose of getting insight into rider expectations of an electric Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
