Harley-Davidson Softail description

'91 springer. I bought it in pretty much original condition and have stripped it down over the years. simple chopper wiring, with headlight switch, ignition switch, and starter button on custom made bar between the tanks. I hand sanded the tank and fenders, primed them, and sprayed them in semi-gloss black. tanks each have some dents on them that you can see in the photos. paint on engine is wearing off, which is common for this year evo. stock front end but has a replacement non-Harley shock. I do have the front fender as well, but it is still painted in the original 2-tone blue. seat is a slim lepera. an additional original softail seat will be included. avon tire up front, Harley Dunlop in back. not sure what the exhaust is, it was on there when I bought it. sounds great though! tail light/license plate bracket is from lowbrow customs. motor runs great. never had a problem with it, never left me broken down. don't need to sell, but I never really get to ride so I figured i'd offer it up to somebody who can really enjoy it. that said, I will entertain reasonable offers. please look closely at the pictures. I can take more photos if needed, or you're welcome to come by, check it out, and hear it run. the bike is garaged in northeast Baltimore. the only problem the bike has is in the starter. it always spins but does not always engage when I push the starter button. I've been told by knowledgeable friends (which confirmed my suspicion) that it is more than likely the starter clutch which is an inexpensive part and not a difficult fix. the only reason I haven't fixed it is because I was going to put an open primary on it and was going to wait until winter to do everything at the same time. I bought the bike with about 26,000 miles on it, and haven't ridden it much at all. I put 30,000 miles in the description, which is an estimate only, but probably about right. no speedo, no turn signals. ape hangers are somewhere between 16 and 18 inches if I remember right. that's all I can remember at the moment, i'll post more if I remember something pertinent. feel free to ask questions. shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer. no paypal, as I don't want to deal with the fees. I am not interested in trades of any kind.

EBR Nation Part 3: Made In America

Wed, 10 Aug 2011

Erik Buell Racing has released the third episode of its series about the new 1190RS sportbike. The latest episode focuses on the company’s “Made in America” philosophy, with its goal of producing a high-performance superbike in the U.S.A. As Erik Buell, racer Geoff May and designer Tony Stefanelli discuss the themes of innovation and freedom, we can’t help but wonder however whether they’re talking about American ideals, or about being out from Harley-Davidson’s umbrella.

2010 Sportster Forty-Eight [video]

Mon, 25 Jan 2010

Watching the promo videos that Harley-Davidson puts out does get me pumped.  Harley does however really seem to reinforce the stereotype of a typical Harley rider, I’m not sure if I am cool enough but the new Sportster Forty-Eight looks great!  Harley could use some positive feedback after they announced their Q4 results… Get the Flash Player to see this player. The 2010 Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight retails for $10,499 for the black version, $10,789 for the silver or orange. Click here for more info.

Cubans Host First Harley-Davidson Rally

Mon, 16 Apr 2012

Relations between the U.S. and Cuba have been strained for decades but that hasn’t stopped some Cubans from enjoying a piece of Americana. About 70 Cuban Harley-Davidson riders (or “Harlistas” as they call themselves) gathered in the resort town of Varadero for the country’s first-ever Harley-Davidson rally.
