Harley-Davidson Other description

2014 Harley-Davidson CVO Road King FLHRSE5, Asking riders if they'd like passing power is like asking them 'Would you like beer in the pitcher' when they have reached their final destination at the end of a long, dusty ride. Everybody wants it, and the Twin Cam 110 Engine is 110 cubic inches of Harley-Davidson V-Twin built you can rely on to deliver it. The result: massive low end torque and quick 60 to 80 mph 5th gear roll-on to get you around that 18-wheeler. In the tradition of the Flathead, Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead, Evolution Twin Cam 88 and Twin Cam 96 engines that came before it, the new Twin Cam 110 Engine is all about the feeling an engine delivers to the rider. There's a reason we're called the Harley-Davidson Motor Company. Once you send some fuel this one, you'll have do doubt what it is. Also available in: Titanium Dust and Galactic Black w/Aztec Shadow Graphics, and Tribal Orange and Galactic Black w/Aztec Shadow Graphics Features: Twin Cam 110 Engine New Reflex Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Linked Brakes New dual halogen and LED headlamps Brighter Tour Pak lighting Brighter turn signals Brighter brake lights New steering head with stiffer front forks

Vespa goes back to the future

Thu, 22 Nov 2012

IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while.  I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.

Dave Grohl Drums to the Sound of a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle

Fri, 31 Jul 2009

I’ve got a lot of respect for Dave Grohl.  He’s amazingly talented and very driven.  Even after Nirvana, the guy is still kicking and in the spotlight with the Foo Fighters and the millions of other side projects he’s done (ie: Queens of the Stone Age). Apparently he’s also a big motorcycle guy. Harley-Davidson did a little video on Dave, featuring him drumming on a snare drum to the exhaust pipes of a Harley-Davidson.  The seven minute video goes on about how Mr Grohl bought his first motorcycle when the Nirvana album “Nevermind” started to become big.

New Harley-Davidson Book Ties Together The Company’s Past

Thu, 08 May 2014

Margie Siegal, former columnist for IronWorks Magazine and motorcycle enthusiast has written a book on the history of the world’s most famous motorcycle, Harley-Davidson. Entitled,  Harley-Davidson: A History of the World’s Most Famous Motorcycle, the book ties together the mechanical evolution of the Harley engines, the social history of Harley and the beautiful visuals associated with Harleys in design, advertising, artful photography and collectibles. Harley-Davidson are words that evoke the open American road and the “Made in America” tradition like no others.
