Harley-Davidson Other description

2008 Harley-Davidson Road King CLASSIC, Of all the motorcycles I have owned in my 70 years, this is by far the best. You will have to see it in person and ride it to know what I mean. You won't find a dent, scratch, ding or smudge on it. Not even towel marks. I take pride in my toys and hope to pass this on to someone that feels the same way. It has some nice features like the quick release windshield and quick release sissy bar. It's nice to have cruise control and the 6-gal tank for long trips. The bike looks new and you would never guess it had 20,414 miles. Ask any mechanic and they will tell you that a bike with this many miles that has been serviced well and on schedule will be better than a bike with few miles that sits in the garage all year. 20K service just completed at Harley Dealer. I have included Harley's write-up as they do a better job of describing this incredible bike than I could. The extras included in this sale are as follows: Quick Release Windshield Quick Release Passenger Back Rest (Sissy Bar) Beautiful Leather Saddlebags Chrome Engine Guards (front & back) with Highway Pegs Upgraded Chrome HD Floorboards and matching toe/heal shifter and brake Chrome License Cover Factory Cruise Factory Security with 2 Fobs 3X Leather Windshield Pouchs for your sunglasses, etc. 2 Nostalgic Saddlebag guard bags w/water bottle pouch 2 extra tails wired for trickle-charge and heated clothing Slip-on Exhaust Upgrade (good sound) Removable fork wind deflectors Many Willie-G accessories (see pics) If you have any questions, please email me or call 4o4-822-4422. Scams will be reported. Combining Harley-Davidson styling heritage and long-range riding comfort, the FLHRC Road King Classic features a large, detachable windshield and hard-leather saddlebags. A new design brings the handlebar closer to the rider. A chrome Hiawatha headlamp and clear-lens auxiliary passing lights lead the way, while chrome engine covers, a deep-skirted FL front fender and black-wall tires add a touch of class. Larger Fuel Tank: Fuel capacity of all Touring models is increased by 20 percent, from five to six gallons. Combined with the 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission, the larger tank gives Touring models more range than ever before. The new tank also features new console styling with a new fuel range indicator, and also enabled the seat to be reshaped for more comfort. Electronic Throttle Control: A new Electronic Throttle Control replaces mechanical cables on all Touring models. All wiring from the throttle-grip sensor is routed through the handlebars. The ETC enables the easy upgrade to a new cruise control system, and provides a clean custom look in the handlebar area. Factory Cruise Control. Isolated Drive System: Located in the rear sprocket, the Isolated Drive System improves ride quality under accelerations, shifting and cruising while reducing $13,850.00 4048224422

Vespa goes back to the future

Thu, 22 Nov 2012

IT'S been a while coming, but the gorgeous Vespa 946 - EICMA 2012's Best of Show - has finally introduced something to the two-wheeled world that our four-wheeled counterparts have had for a while.  I call this 'reverse retro-futurism' - the art of borrowing lines from models past and imbuing them with a sleek sense of future direction (as opposed to retro-futurism, the pre-1960s design trend of depicting the technology of the future. The term 'decopunk' may come close, but feel free to tell me if there's a more exact term.) It's what the New Mini and the New Beetle (both 1997 and 2012 versions) have done so well, and so successfully: building an all-new model as a tribute to a classic, something that's modern yet already timeless, with a widely-appreciated, inclusive aesthetic (and here we eliminate the Plymouth PT Cruiser from the conversation). The biking world is great at retro, indeed thrives on it, but not so good at adding in a taste of the 21st century.
