Thin dual head-lamps, dual underseat exhaust, single-sided swingarm and sumptuous bodywork evoke visions of the legendary 916, which is exactly whatDucati was aiming for. Key technologies derived from the company's recent MotoGP racing success have allowed the 1098 to narrow the gap between the Japanese bikes so much that it actually takes top billing in a few areas normally dominated by the Big Four.
Utilizing the already capable 1098 as a platform, Ducati's 1098S incorporates premium components designed to satisfy the most dedicated sportbike riders, at a cost of $4,000 over the price of the standard 1098. We recently took this 2 owner 1098S in on trade from a private collector in Florida. This Duc has been adult owned, never laid down, never tracked and ridden gingerly. Tue, 17 May 2011Leon Morris (Buildbase/JHP Ducati) took both wins at Round Two of the Rapid Solicitors Ducati 848 Challenge rounding out a very challenging weekend for all the rider and teams at Assen. The changeable weather conditions made for last-minute tyre decisions and tricky racing conditions as the rain came in heavy bursts throughout the weekend, leaving a number of riders out on track on the wrong tyres. Qualifying on Saturday was typical, as the weather rendered two of the three qualifying sessions damp, leaving only the early afternoon session in which all the riders posted a fast time.

848 Challenge to continue in 2013

For the first time, the series comes under the organisation of MSVR with the full support of Ducati UK. The prestigious one make series has produced exhilarating racing in the past three seasons with average grid sizes of 30 riders and is expected to crown a third different champion this year as riders compete on a level playing field running equal Ducati 848 machinery.
