Ducati Superbike description

2008 Ducati 1098R is the ultimate Sportbike. The 1098R is a race bike, pure and simple. Its competition specification and superior components together with advanced electronics and race-proven chassis technology deliver a level of performance that empowers you with confidence and capability.


 This example of the 1098R has some nice upgrades from Kyle USA Racing. Track Link and Link Adjuster on rear suspension and front Triple Clamp.

History of Bike: We bought direct from auction and bike was repo'd. Bike was set up for track use when we received it. New ABS street fairing were installed a long with integrated tail light, new battery, and new street tires (Michelin). Bike is ready for the street (front mirrors/blinkers included but not installed). However if you looking to put back on the track the ABS fairing on the bike when we received goes with the bike. It is heavily scratches and has some cracks. Bike runs and drives great however would suggest a service from a certified Ducati mechanic.

I guess I just don't understand it, but these pieces look worthy of Tate Bike (that is if it existed). They're from young female artist, Guenevere Schwien, who grew to love motorcycles at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Audi-Ducati Discussions No Longer Exclusive

Audi‘s window for exclusive negotiation rights with Ducati has closed, but the German automaker is still expected to announce the acquisition of the Italian motorcycle brand this week. Volkswagen-owned Audi had exclusive rights to discuss acquiring Ducati until April 15, and though other suitors may now begin negotiations, Audi remains the front-runner. Last week, Reuters reported a deal could be announced as soon as April 18, the day before the Volkswagen Group’s annual shareholder meeting.

Ducati continues to develop its Desmosedici GP12 MotoGP race bike, setting modest goals while trying to establish a good setup. Already trailing the other factory teams in development time for its race prototypes, Ducati continued to try to find good base settings for the GP12. Valentino Rossi achieved the team’s goal of lapping under two minutes and two seconds with a time of 2:01.886 while completing 44 laps on the second day of testing at Malaysia’s Sepang circuit.
