Ducati Superbike tech info
Ducati Superbike description
You are looking at a geriatric owned and pampered 1997 Ducati 916 Biposto.
The bike is in spotless original, unmolested condition with the following exceptions: I had the wheels powder coated black and fitted a Sargent seat and Ferracci handle bars. The original seat and factory handle bars come with the bike, as do the passenger footpegs. The bike is fitted with factory Termignoni pipes. All paint and plastic is without blemish. No dents, no scratches. Some pinhole size stone chips can be seen on the leading edges of the fairing, but these are so small that they do not show up in any of the pictures.
There are, what appear to be two small hairline cracks in the tachometer lens, but these again are too small to show up in a picture. They have been there for years, do not grow and do not leak. The ignition switch sometimes fails to make contact the first time, but a second attempt usually does the trick. Except for timing belts (every two years), the main fuel filter and other routine maintenance replacement parts, everything else is original – down to the original drive chain and sprockets, which show no appreciable wear. The factory air filters were replaced with reproductions. Tires are half-life Metzeler Sporttech M1’s. Battery is new Shorai.
The bike’s mechanical condition matches it appearance. She runs like a clock and pulls like a freight train. Being a tinkerer, I have performed minor services, seasonal oil changes and the like myself. Major services were performed by the dealer – first by Eastern Cycle Ducati in Beverly, MA (from whom I bought the bike) and later by Cleveland-Akron Ducati, OH. A factory maintenance manual and full service history come with the sale, and so does the paddock stand. Total mileage since new is 8,188.
Payment and Shipping:
$500.00 deposit due within 24 hours, balance within 14 days, or when the motorcycle is picked up or shipped, whichever occurs first. Paypal for deposit and bank certified check for the balance preferred. Shipping will be for the buyer’s account and I will be assisting on my end as best I can.
Thanks!

Ducati won the elegance pageant with color effects
Fri, 19 Jul 2019Ducati's designers' maneuver is elegant, efficient and simple - it is based on the Hypermotard 950, which received new design elements from the company's catalog, a different subframe and an original color scheme that is especially striking. These touches were enough to transform the bike and win an award, despite the fact that there is nothing conceptual in it. But what the hell - it's a beauty!
