The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, visited Britain’s largest motorcycle show, Motorcycle Live, at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham. The visit saw the Duke astride numerous motorcycle models including UK icons Norton and Triumph as well as a Ducati 1199 Superleggera (one of the few men able to afford the $70,000 rarity). During his visit Prince William enjoyed a display of off-road riding – one of nine opportunities for visitors to ride at Motorcycle Live, eight of which are inside the halls of the NEC. He also met Dean Linehan, exhibitions director of MCI Exhibitions, the company that organizes the annual motorcycle exhibition.

French Moto Website Anticipates Versys 1000 at EICMA 2011

Musings of a liter-size engined Kawasaki Versys have circulated the web for a few years now, as loyalists of the likable Versys 650, as well as displacement-driven riders waiting in the wings, have pondered the potential of a more powerful adventure bike from Kawasaki that’s in the same league as BMW’s R1200GS and Yamaha’s Super Tenere. Ducati Hypermotard with Zero Emissions

Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali was amazed by an electric bike that he saw at one of his company's Thai dealerships the other day. It turned out that the dealer sells within the walls of his center not only Ducati motorcycles, but also Zero emissions electric bikes. However, the latter didn't sell very well, and he decided to attract buyers by building a test-drive e-bike with Ducati Hypermotard looks and some Zero FX parts and reasoning that it would be easier to send a customer to the track in a Ducati, and only then transfer to Zero.
