The D16RR is literally a Moto GP bike built for the street. At the heart of the D16RR is a compact 989cc V-Four engine inside a version of Ducati's trademark tubular-steel trellis frame. The engine uses the same bore and stroke as that used in the 2006 race bike the D16GP6. It uses the 'twin pulse' firing order in which the crank pins are offset by 70 degrees to generate what Ducati terms as 'soft pulse timing.' Equipped with the race ECU and exhaust system the D16RR achieves 180HP at 13800 rpm at the rear wheel. World Ducati Week 2012 Draws 65,000 Fans
Mon, 25 Jun 2012Ducati announced a record 65,000 fans attended its World Ducati Week 2012 celebration, with fans from around the world gathering in the Misano Circuit to celebrate the Italian brand. The record crowd took in the entertainment including test rides, live music and feted Ducati’s MotoGP and World Superbike racers. One highlight was the drag race featuring some of Ducati’s current racers and retired WSBK Champion Troy Bayliss.
Ducati 1199 Superleggera Boasts 200 HP, Sub 400-Pound Wet Weight

Based on the already impressive 1199 Panigale R, the Superleggera (Super Light) takes the R model on serious diet while hitting the gym to pack on some muscle. According to Ducati, the 1199 Superleggera is good for over 200 hp, and weighs a remarkable 390 pounds, ready to ride with at least 90% of its fuel tank filled.

Tue, 12 Jun 2012Max Biaggi strengthened his hold on the 2012 World Superbike Championship lead with a pair of wins at Italy’s Misano circuit. The Aprilia rider out-battled the Althea Ducati duo of Carlos Checa and Davide Giugliano to win Race One before taking a relatively easier Race Two victory. Before the races, WSBK riders lined up on the starting grid to hold a banner expressing their support for the Emilia region in northern Italy which has been suffering from earthquakes and continuing aftershocks since late May.
