2002 Ducati Monster on 2040-motos
Ducati Monster tech info
Ducati Monster description
One of the only two model years that it had a metal tank, less electronics, no catalytic converter, yet had fuel injection. I was planning to keep it as a collector's bike for a longer time, but I need the space in my garage and don't ride it enough. Very few Monster 900ie bikes from 2001-2002 out there that could be in such a great condition--it took me a long time to find it a few years ago.
It is great for short riders and has incredible torque. One of the lightest bikes in this class. I think dry weight is about 380lbs, and it is air cooled. Great condition, extremely low miles, entirely stock (the front fairing is added, but comes off easily if you don't like it). Always garaged - no signs of it ever being kept outside. I bought it five years ago from a lady in South Carolina. I put on new Pilot Road 2CT tires, had the brake fluid changed, had the timing belt changed, new clutch master cylinder (with Ducati original part), and put in a new battery. I have been changing the oil only with synthetic and recently changed it. I think I have some extra maintenance parts such as air, fuel, and oil filter. $4,900, firm. Cash, only in person--I will not ship. I also have a set of UK-made exhausts, if you like louder, less-restrictive exhausts, almost new. Priced to sell. At the time of this posting, for example, there is one 2000 Monster 900 on eBay for $4,500 with 29,000 miles and modified. This bike should keep its value if you take care of it. I have the manuals and all keys. Ask questions before you commit, and please come and see it if you can before you buy it. |

2011 Ducati 848 EVO: First Ride
Wed, 20 Oct 2010It was a great day at work for Duke, riding not only the new 848 EVO, but also the new 1198 SP. Ducati’s 848 impressed us when it was introduced in 2007, offering exotic Italian style along with more power than any 600 supersport. Now Ducati offers a significant upgrade to it called the 848 EVO, which we had a chance to sample at the historic circuit in the town of Imola, Italy.

Rare as rocking horse sh..
Mon, 26 Mar 2012So last season I spent all but the last round racing on a buckled wheel. How didn't I spot it, you ask. Well, I should have done and when I asked other riders about the weave at high speed the usual reply was 'They all do that, sir'.
