1978 Custom Ducati. One of a kind great custom Ducati, modified to have a 900SS look. 1978 Bevel drive engine - you will notice the bevel window in the photos. Handmade one of a kind aluminum polished gas tank is eye catching - makes the bike stand out in a crowd. Alloy wheels with polished stainless steel spokes. Del Orto 38mm carbs. Recently painted (2014) with Ducati paint (Ducati Yellow- looks orange). Frame is a 900ss reproduction -- very high end, manufactured 1976-1981 (extremely hard to find -- frame alone would sell for $3K plus). Engine number research shows it is most likely a GTS that was put into the 900SS frame. Odometer is 7938 miles.
Bike was purchased from an individual in Florida 8 years ago. It is a project that was done with a great deal of intergrity - maintaining the lines of the SS with a fraction of the cost.Completely repainted and engine meticuously taken care of. MotoGP to Standardize ECU Software in 2016 Season
Tue, 18 Mar 2014MotoGP‘s Grand Prix Commission announced the series will adopt a standardized Engine Control Unit hardware and software programming for all entries starting with the 2016 season. At the moment, all teams are required to use a standard ECU hardware supplied by Magneti Marelli. Teams competing under the Factory option are allowed to use their own proprietary software programming while Open option participants must use standardized software.
